----- January 9th, 2012 - Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan -----

Third Person POV

New York. The Big Apple. Metropolis. Gotham. The City that never sleeps. Though with how quiet it was down by the docks, you could easily mistake it as taking a rest. But the silence unfortunately won't last long.

A group of men were standing next to a warehouse. One of them was holding a duffel bag. The three of them stood there as if waiting for someone. Eventually one of them speaks.

"Hey, Paulie. You think the boss would give me the day off tomorrow?"

"The hell you need a day off for? You do nothing in your spare time," Paulie responds.

"I got hobbies"

"Like what?"

"Like hobbies"

"What hobbies?"

"Hobbies!"

"You ain't got no hobbies," the third of them says.

"TV!"

"TV ain't a hobby," Paulie tells him.

"Sure it is, and it takes up a lot of my time."

"Yeah, I bet," Paulie replies sarcastically.

A car is heard driving up. It comes to a stop in front of them. Paulie standing in the front, as one of the other two reaches behind his back and pulls out a pistol.

Suddenly the car door opens and out steps a rather short man. Muffled yells are heard from in the car as he closes the door and turns to the three men.

The mans face contorts into a rather lopsided smile, "Paulie! Sam! How's it goin?!"

"You're late," Sam tells him.

"Well we had a uh passenger that needed to be picked up," The man looks over at the younger man still holding the gun, "Who's the kid?"

Paulie looks back at younger man noticing the gun in his hand, "Jesus Tommy, put the fuckin gun away."

Tommy looks over at Sam before putting his pistol away. Paulie turns back to the man, while slowly shaking his head.

"You got the money?" Paulie asks him.

The man moves to the front of the car. He knocks on the window. It rolls down and a briefcase is handed out from inside. The man grabs it and walks back over to the men. He flips it over and opens it.

"40k as promised."

A loud bang is heard from behind the building next to them. The man closes the briefcase and places it on the floor as the four of them look into that direction.

"Sam, go check that out," Paulie tells him.

Sam makes his way behind the building, pulling out his gun on his way.

Paulie drops the duffel bag in front of the man, "Now I don't know what this shit is or why you guys need it so much. But the next time your boss needs us to get more we expect double the pay. That shit was heavily guarded."

The man picks up the bag, "Of course. Of course. 'If' we need you to acquire more."

A gunshot was heard from behind the same building next to them. The three of them look that way once more.

Paulie pulls out his pistol and begins walking over toward the gunshot, "Tommy, stay here."

"Aight"

The other man slowly walks backward to the car. He opens the door and throws the bag inside. After a few moments they hear another gunshot and a loud thud soon after.

The man quickly hops in the car as it takes off fast.

Tommy pulls out his gun and slowly walks to where both his friends walked off to check out. As he comes to the corner, he leans against the wall. He brings his gun up to his chest before jumping out from the corner while aiming.

All he saw were his friends. But something was very wrong.

Sam, for starters, was knocked out on the ground with a broken arm. How could he know it's broken, you may ask? Well the skin was ripped and the bone was sticking out. But he was very much alive.

As for Paulie, well this ones a little bit harder to understand how it happened. You see Paulie was very much awake and kicking. Literally kicking. To put it simply, Paulie was stuck with his head all the way into the wall. He was flailing about trying to pull his head out.

Tommy walked closer to them, looking around for any sign as to what happened. It couldn't have been Iron Man, he wasn't even in New York at the moment.

As soon as he reaches them, he hears a voice.

"You really should have listened to your friend and stayed put."

Tommy quickly looks behind him, expecting to see someone. He looks around everywhere trying to find who spoke. He eventually stops when he hears the person give a quick chuckle to themselves.

He looks forward out toward the water and slowly looks up, "Holy shit."

That's when he sees it.

That's when he realized his mistake was showing up.
