"Mafia before love." My father sneered as he held a knife to my mothers throat. Fear flashed across my eyes as I got up from my seat only to be held back by 2 of my fathers men. Water streamed down my cheeks as my mothers teary eyes met my own.

She can't die.

"Giovanni please don't do this! not in front of our son!" My mothers desperate pleads were ignored by my father.

Wake up Xavier.

"But the thing is Rosa, I never loved you." He chuckled sinisterly, pressing the knife further into my mothers throat as I tried to release myself from his men.

"Ma!" My 16 year old self screamed. Pain dripped within my tone as my heart raced inside my chest.

It's happening again.

He didn't listen. My desperate pleas went unnoticed by him. Instead he sent me a sinister smile as he dragged the knife across her throat, blood drenching the knife whilst doing so. Her blood.

Her head dropped.

Open your eyes Xavier.

She's dead. I will never get to see her again because she's gone. All because of him.

I dropped to my knees as I watched her lifeless body fall to the floor. Her body was surrounded by a pool of crimson red blood. I felt empty as I watched her body become pale. My own mother was lying in a pit of her own blood right in front of me.

Wake up!

I inhaled a sharp breath as I opened my eyes, sitting up from my bed as I looked frantically around my room. He's not here, breathe. I tried to control my heavy breathing as I repeated the same words in my head; he's not here. He's always controlling me in my nightmares. Fuck sake, not again. I ran a hand stressfully through my hair as I checked the time on my phone. 5:30 am. Sighing, I got up from my bed knowing I won't be going back to sleep anytime soon. I need air.

Putting on my black Nike hoodie, I made my way over to my bedroom door to leave. After leaving my room, I walked quietly over to the garage making sure not to wake anyone up. Taking a drive always helped ease my mind so that's what I decided to do. I always go on drives whenever this happens. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes as I got into my black Ferrari, starting up the engine whilst I rolled down the window.

The streets were empty as I drove away from the house. An orange sunset gloomed in the sky as the slight breeze ruffled my hair. I kept my eyes focused on the road, driving to God knows where. Anywhere is better then here. I felt a warm tear trickle down my cheek. Shit. I quickly wiped it away with the back of my hand whilst trying to stop anymore from coming out. Weak.
