AS IT TURNS out being a Princess was really rather fun

Erica laughed, her voice trailing and echoing off the grand walls as she ran down the massive hallways in a big blue dress and high heels (Jonsey taught her how to run in heels) and a crown that was now placed lopsided on her head as it slipped during the time she was running.

It was honestly like something out of a fairytale, though Erica supposed it was ironic because as it's been pointed out she was the eldest daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming and if things had worked out the way they were supposed to she would have been this princess, with corsets and dresses and balls

But on the flip side being a princess has many rules, not that Erica couldn't follow rules...She could but she had been following rules her entire life (or at least mostly...she sometimes had to break laws and rules to survive especially when she was an orphan and she and Emma used to live on the streets in between foster placements)

It took a toll on Erica to survive. From a very early age, she had to protect Emma, she had to grow up pretty quickly while trying to protect Emma as much as possible. She had always put Emma first

So it was nice to (selfishly) put herself first once in a while and not feel like the weight of the world on her shoulders and to well put herself first and being a pirate allowed her to do so, allowed her to let out the side of her that she keeps mostly locked up afraid to let it see the light of day, afraid to let it out and get too far

Rapunzel's laughter brings her back into the here and now and she glanced at her ex-girlfriend who honestly looked gorgeous in her purple dress, bare feet and long blonde hair flowing like a golden river freely down her back. She was the complete contrast to Erica

But they were both free

"Catch us if you can!" Rapunzel giggled, as she called back toward Eugene

"Oh I'll always be one step behind you blondie" Eugene shouted back and Erica could practically hear the smirk in his voice as they all dodged more serving staff, some glared at them while others simply gave them weird looks

They run into the throne room and Erica's body gravitates towards one of the thrones and she runs up the stairs to one of them before collapsing down onto it and smiling as she rests her head against it. There was a flash somewhere in the corner of the room and her eyes follow the light to see Jaclyn hiding behind a camera

"What are you doing?"

"Taking a photo. Zel had a load of these hanging around" She said, holding up a polaroid camera and Erica had to bite back a grin because she hadn't used a polaroid camera since she was a kid and by using one now she could eternalise the memories she made today, forever.
