Luz's P.O.V.

"What is it you wanted to talk about?" Ed sighs before talking. "It's about Hunter. The wendigo thing. Since humans tell folklore about witches, what about wendigos?" Actually, they do. "Well, I don't know everything. But here's what I do know. Wendigos are native american deer monsters who punish cannibals by turning the cannibal into one of them. Then the cannibal turned into a wendigo is cursed to eat people forever." Honestly I'm just having fun explaining monsters to him. Even if it's probably inaccurate.

And I drone on, loving spitting out what humans have conjured over the years. "Apparently have human intelligence too. Fifteen feet tall. Heard their offspring inherit the wendigo curse. Yeah, in the folklore from the human realm, it's called a curse too. Sorry. I've been talking for way too long." I actually wonder how much of it is true.

He shakes his head at me. "No, no. It's fine... How strong are they, exactly?" Just as I put a finger to my chin in thought, I come up with an answer. "They can carry two people at once. Can tear up huts. They're pretty strong. "And... How do you beat a wendigo" This makes me question him instead.

"Hold on... Are you saying you'll kill him?!" He shakes his head with a quick pace. "No! I mean in self defense. I could never!" And a sigh of relief from me. "But maybe none of these facts are true anyway! They're from humans who get witches wrong." But Ed argues. "I don't know. What if he eats me like the wendigo you humans think of? The deer was already really strong and seemed more intelligent than an animal. And it was as tall as a wendigo.

Maybe some of the facts are right. "But maybe it won't happen again. Eda tamed her beast." I assure him, hoping Hunter doesn't find out about this conversation.

"Guess I should go home now." Ed tells me while he exits the hall. "But why not stay a bit longer?" Hunter asks as he's on the couch, but couldn't hear our conversation as we were quiet enough. "No. I think you'd get all uhh.. paranoid because of your curse. I don't think you'll transform, but maybe it would put your mind at ease." Ed replies, which doesn't sound like something he'd say.

"I know. But we barely talked." Hunter gets up but Edric moves to the door. "Yeah, but I should get back to Amity." This makes me want to get in on the conversation too. "But wouldn't Emira be helping taking care of-" But before I could even finish my sentence, he's already out the door.
