Pacifying blanket

Sometimes all you need is a hug,
because you cannot love yourself;
so you froze yourself numb,
sometimes for a year.

The light is gone, spark it again!
Voices in your head, bottles on your bookshelves,
"Go away!"
                    half hatred,
a short mechanical answer.

You think too much about what to say;
you mess up and think of it all day.
Are you asleep? I just want to know you're okay.

I leave a message hoping for you to see,
"I'm sorry to bother but I just wanted to tell
that even though I don't know what you've been through,
know that I'm always here, just in case"

No one's a burden, stop lying to you.
Speak to me!
When life is like a puzzle with missing pieces;
when we erupt like the thunderous flash that splits a black ended sky,

Let your words sweep over me like a blanket

a warm one,
a safe one,
a loved one.
