KNIGHTS I-6: Pursuing Cinderella (Trigger Knights)

Chapter 52

"I was wondering a while ago why would you invite us for a drink, knowing that you can't be away from your wife even just a second. Is there something you want to tell us?" Dagger coldly asked while looking at him intently.

Trigger clenched his jaw as he drank another glass of alcohol. "I don't want to talk about it while I'm still sane."

"What? You fucker!" galit na bulyaw sa kaniya nito at akma na siyang babatukan pero pinigilan agad ito ng bunso nilang kapatid.

"Kuya, he wanted to get drowned in alcohol first so he'll gain strength to explain what happened. Bobo ka ba?" Primo irritatedly said.

Third Knights let out a chuckle. "Tinawag kang bobo ng bunso natin, kuya. Payag ka non?" he teased Dagger who just rolled his eyes in a manly way.

"You seriously can talk while you're still conscious, kuya Trigger. What's the matter? Tell us," Xord said on the other seat.

Pinikit ni Trigger ang mga mata. "She left me, again."

Hindi siya nakarinig ng reaksyon sa mga kapatid. As fucking usual. Pero pagmulat niya ng mga mata ay halata pa rin ang pagkabigla sa mukha ng mga ito. 

"Why did she left you? Again?" parang nang-aasar pa na tanong ng kapatid na si Froze.

Sinamaan niya ito ng tingin. "Kaya ayokong magsabi sa inyong mga tang ina kayo, e. Wala kayong ibang gagawin kung 'di mang-asar."

His brothers chuckled with what he said.

"I'm just asking, kuya, chill your ass. Everyone's wondering what happened and what have you done to make her leave just like that," dugtong pa ni Froze.

Sumandal siya at ipinahinga ang ulo sa sandalan ng upuan bago ipikit ang mga mata. "With your question, I'm starting to think that it's really my fault, maybe it's me who messed up this time."

Bullet heaved a sigh. "You told her you knew about her plans?"

He nodded his head. "And she was shocked about it. I felt horrible after seeing the pain in her eyes as I told her that."

"We all knew that she's planning something. I just stopped Dagger from bursting out and telling her the truth. Alam mo naman kung gaano kabastos ang bunganga ng hayop na 'to kapag harap-harapan," Sebastian uttered before slapping Dagger.

"Kuya, tang ina naman 'wag mong hawakan pisngi ko! Baka mamaya kapag hinalikan ako ng asawa ko diyan mapatay pa kita," mainit ang ulo na reklamo ni Dagger.

Sumimangot lang si Sebastian at inirapan ito.

"Maybe she felt guilty knowing that you knew about her revenge all the time," Primo said.

Trigger shook his head. Naramdaman niya ang pag-init ng sulok ng mga mata niya nang maalala ang mga sinabi ng pinakamamahal niya bago siya nito iwan. 

He closed his eyes when he felt a hot liquid on his skin. He can't believe that he's crying in front of his brothers.

"I felt guilty telling her the things I've found out. Maybe she felt useless knowing that I was pretending while I'm with her. If I didn't tell her that I'm aware of her plans, maybe she wouldn't leave again. Baka hanggang ngayon kasama ko pa rin siya," umiiyak niyang litanya habang mariin na hawak ang basong may laman ng alak.

His brothers became silent as they watch him being vulnerable. 

"You're allowed to be in pain, to cry, in front us, Trigger. Ilabas mo lahat. Walang makakakita sa 'yo kung 'di kami lang. What's stopping you from crying? We are your brothers, no one would judge you here," Sebastian uttered before tapping his shoulder.

Dagger, who's sitting beside Trigger, quickly embraced him in a manly way as he let his younger brother cry on his shoulder. Tahimik lang ang iba nilang kapatid pero sa loob-looban ng mga ito ay nasasaktan din sila na makita ang kapatid nila sa ganitong sitwasyon.

Sebastian was right. They're only allowed to be in pain when they're together in one room, with no other people around them.

Malaya lang silang masaktan at magpakita ng kahinaan kapag sila-sila lang ang nakakakita. That's how they live, hiding their weaknesses, acting like perfect men in front of other people so no one would dare to get in their way. They got used to it.

"If I can beg the heaven to turn back time, I wouldn't admit it to her. I'll fucking give her everything so she'll forget about her plans and decide to be happy with me instead. But I can't fucking do that. Kahit gaano karami ang pera ko, 'yon lang ang hindi ko kayang gawin. I've never been this fucking selfish but if I can buy everything including time with all the money I have, I'll do it," Trigger added with pain in his voice.

"We know, kuya, we know how much you love her. Pero sa ngayon kailangan mo munang magpahinga. We'll do everything to help you win her back. Nandito lang kami kung kailangan mo ng tulong," Third said.

"If you need us, you can call us anytime. You're still vulnerable and weak because of what happened and you won't be able to win her back with your situation. Kaya hindi mo kailangang isipin kung sinong pwede mong hingian ng tulong dahil nandito naman kami," Xord added.

"Kuya Avenight might not be here but I'm sure he knows what's exactly happening and he'll do a move to help you. Just rest for a while, kuya." It was Bullet who said that.

TRIGGER immediately closed the faucet as he looked at his reflection on the mirror. Hindi niya makita ang sarili sa repleksyon niya ngayon, he looked fucking horrible and weak. Walang gana ang mga mata niya at nanghihina siya.

Nilingon niya ang cellphone nang tumunog 'yon, he quickly saw Shanelle's name on the screen. He looked at himself for the last time before answering the call.

"No, Eric's not with me."

"Hindi 'yon ang itatanong ko, Trigger. I heard what happened from Enica. Bakit umalis si Miracle? Anong nangyari?" nag-aalalang tanong nito.

"I told her that I knew about her plans, and she left me," diretsyo niyang sagot gamit ang walang ganang boses.

"Her p-plans? So she's really taking revenge on you? Tama ba ang hinala namin ni Enica?"  nanghihinang tanong ng babae.

"Yeah."

"Bakit hindi ka nagpaliwanag sa kaniya, Trigger? You suffered for five years and yet you didn't even tell her the truth? Pakiramdam ko naman hindi ka iiwan ni Miracle kung nagpaliwanag ka lang sa kaniya--"

"She's still confused of what's happening and I don't want to hurt her again," he answered.

Rinig niya ang paghikbi ng babae sa kabilang linya. "Trigger, hindi ko alam kung ganyan ka ba talaga magmahal o masyado kang tanga. Limang taon, Trigger, limang taon kang pinag-iisipan ni Miracle nang masama kahit ni isa sa mga 'yon ay walang katotohanan. Ngayon na may pagkakataon ka na ipaliwanag sa kaniya lahat hindi mo ginawa. Hindi pa ba sapat ang limang taon sa 'yo? Gusto mo pang pahirapan ang sarili mo?"

"Shanelle--"

"Kung hindi mo kayang ipaliwanag kay Miracle lahat, ako ang magpapaliwanag sa kaniya. I want you guys to have a happy ending and seeing my bestfriend hate you makes me feel useless as her friend. Kaya kung wala kang lakas ng loob na sabihin sa kaniya ang totoo, pwes ako m'eron."

Shanelle ended the line and all he could do was massage his temple. 

Kapag sinabi niya ang totoo sa asawa, mas lalo itong masasaktan, kaya ayaw niyang mangyari 'yon. 

Trigger closed his eyes as he clenched his fist. "My Racle, I miss you so much."
