Chapter 56

MIRABELLE'S POV

After I calmed down I went over to my bed and sat down. I couldn't help but let the tears fall as I thought about what happened again.

I took out my phone and dialed the his number. He picked up on the first ring and I could hear the worry in his voice.

"Are you okay my flower?"

I sniffed and wiped my tears with the back of my hand.

"I-I'm fine, c-can you pick me u-up?" I asked with a slight shake in my voice.

"I'll be right there." And with that he hung up.

While I waited I picked out a book from my bookshelf and started reading it. Yet I couldn't concentrate on the words.

His actions kept repeating in my head like a broken record. As far as I know I didn't do anything, so what's happening?

A few minutes later I heard my phone buzz. It was him Alexei telling me that he's outside. I got out of my room and started making my way downstairs.

I didn't bother letting him know, cause why would I? He doesn't want to see me and he hates me. He can't stand the sight of me so why would I bother him?

I opened the door and left. I was Immediately wrapped in a warm comforting hug and I couldn't help but relax in his arms.

"Hey." I whispered against his chest.

"Hey love." He said back and bought his face closer to mine.

His lips crashed against mine and I leaned more into him. He cupped my cheek and deepened the kiss as I fisted his hair. 

"Come on, I have a surprise for you." He said and held my hand to guide me to the car.

He opened the door for me and closed it after I got in. He got in and started driving while holding my hand tightly in his.

"Where are we going?" I asked while I looked at him.

He looked at me for a second and grinned before he looked back at the road.

"You'll see." He winked.

I huffed and didn't say anything anymore. He isn't gonna budge so why waste my breath. I played with the rings on his fingers while we drove in silence.

Then we pulled to a cafe, which looked super cute. 'Benney's' was written in big letters while people entered and left the shop.

Alexei got out and went to my side, he opened my door and held my hand while we walked over. He opened the door and the bell above it rang.

The sweet smell of coffee and baked goods hit me at full force and I sucked a deep breath in. I relaxed and started walking with Alexei who was still holding my hand.

He went to a secluded part of the cafe and pulled out a chair for me. I sat down and he sat opposite of me.

"This is so cute!" I gushed and looked around, admiring the artwork hanged on the walls.

"Yeah? I'm happy you like it" he said and bought my hand to his lips for a kiss.

I blushed and took my arm away while looking to see if someone saw. He laughed and shook his head, amused.

He opened the menu that was already on the table and I did the same.

I decided on hot chocolate and a muffin while he got a black coffee with I cube of sugar and a croissant.

A waiter came over and took our orders and then we sat in silence for a bit, that was until he decided to break it.

"Why were you crying?" He asked and looked at me softly.
