Waves

14 3 3

The waves come crashing down,
As I watch them, seated on the sandy ground,
They rise up again, and then fall down again,
Coming closer to the shore before they die down.

One follows the other,
And I suddenly wonder,
Are they not tired down yet,
For it's the same water that keeps going on over and over again.

Then I think about the last person I loved,
And how they broke my heart untouched,
And then I think about all the persons I still trust,
And then laugh at the irony, my own hypocrisy.
