Chapter XXXIII: If Only You Knew

I opened my eyes. It was bright around me, the afterlife glowed with so much life for being what comes after it ends. It was beautiful. The moon was at it's highest apex. Gold flashing around me as it showered its magic down onto me. I could still see the real world, flashing back into focus. I could hear Kol's cries. Jeremy was still. The spell Abby had put him under was completely gone. I stepped over to him, putting myself in the real world, but not able to be seen by anyone except Jeremy.

"Hilda?" Jeremy questioned, his eyes on me as I appear. I nodded with a smile. Kol snapped his gaze away from my body, looking around frantically at the thought that I was there. "She's here, Kol." Kol snapped his eyes to Jeremy.

"Wh-where?" He asked, his voice breaking some. Standing up, he walked over to where Jeremy was, pointing to where I stood.

"Is the mark complete?" I asked him. He nodded, not even looking at it. "Abby- She did a spell to transfer her kill to you." I explained to him.

"Why did you do it?" Kol asked. I looked over to him, his face was glistening with tears. My heart broke at his expression.

"I couldn't lose you." I spoke towards him, lifting my hand to his cheek but going through him.

"She said she couldn't lose you." Jeremy told him.

"She wouldn't have if it wasn't for you." Kol growled out.

"No. Jeremy had nothing to do with it." I said quickly, Jeremy repeating it. "On my travels, I found a witch, trying to repair my Elf. She wasn't able to do anything for that, but she had seen my death. I knew I was going to die today." Jeremy told Kol exactly what I said, making Kol close his eyes.

"When did you find out?" He growled out. I stayed quiet for a moment. "When?!" Kol snapped. I flinched slightly.

"Before I went to Klaus." I admitted. Jeremy gave me a confused look.

"She said before she went to Klaus." Kol let out a dry laugh, snapping his eyes open and rolling them.

"How romantic. Spend your last day in my brothers bed and not even able to come here before your death day!" Kol snarled out, starting to pace around. I sighed sadly.

"I had to do something. I couldn't avoid it." I explained.

"She said she had to do something." Jeremy repeated. Kol let out a huff of a laugh.

"Great!! So tell me dear mate, What was so much more important than seeing me?! Huh?! Too busy to tell us you were going to die?" Kol growled out, throwing his fist into the wall out of anger. Jeremy looked to me, waiting for me to be able to speak up. Once I stated my reason, Jeremy fell silent. His face full of shock and sadness.

"Hilda-Oh god- What did I do.." Jeremy stammered. His eyes moving from me to my body. Looking at it like he was trying to see something. Kol looked over to him. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Right before Jeremy could say what it was, Elijah, Finn and Klaus ran into the home. Spotting my body immediately and going to it. Elijah kept calm, his eyes showing his heart break. Finn was paling at the sight. But Klaus was growling at Jeremy. Ready to pounce.

"What did she say, Jeremy?" Kol asked, tired of seeing his brothers break down. And not wanting Klaus to kill the boy who could help them talk to their mate. Jeremy shook his head, a tear breaking through his eye. "WHAT.DID.SHE.SAY?!" Kol snapped, running at him and grabbing his throat tightly. He wasn't wanting to kill the hunter, but he also was very unstable right now.

"Sh-she said she-" Jeremy tried. I stood back, watching them, tears pouring out of my eyes at my mates feeling hurt. "She was pregnant." Jeremy choked out. Kol stared at him, confused and shocked. Releasing his grip on him instantly. Kol looked over to her body, staring at it, not noticing anything different with her stomach. If she had gotten pregnant from Klaus if that was even possible, she would have been showing. "She was transferring the pregnancy. She was busy protecting her unborn child." Jeremy said, once he had gotten his breathing back and under control. I watched Klaus break his glare from the hunter, looking to his mate.

"Did she say who she transferred it to?" Elijah finally spoke up. Jeremy nodded.

"A girl named Haley Marshal."
