18. Everybody Knows

Listening to my playlist, my phone is on do not disturb and I am walking through the walls of high school. My morning has been okay. After a rough start, I was able to get my mood up by exercising a little bit and dancing to my favourite song.

My mom hugged me extra tight because I asked her to and that made me feel better and I have finally decided to tell Kaiser that I am pregnant. I decided to call him on Friday and have him meet me somewhere public so that he can not kill me. My worst fear is not that he will kill me but that he will tell me that he has moved on and I am inconveniencing him in some way as though an entire child in the last year of my high school career is not a hurdle but I think I might be able to make it. By my calculations, I will be able to write my exams and give birth probably at the end but in case I give birth during my exams I will probably ask for them to bring the paper to me.

Rayi and Jessica stop in front of me as I am getting to class, I take my earphones out to hear them out. They are wearing matching outfits which is so like them. They are that one couple everyone envies. They are madly in love with each other and then they are like each other, if you did not know you would think they are siblings.

"Hi, guys, what's up?" They look at each other before looking at me. What could it be? Jessica fidgets with her fingers.

"We heard from a reliable source that you have a bun in the oven." Rayi relays as Jessica looks everywhere but my eyes.

"Reliable source?" Sam! How could he do that?

"Yeah. Don't tell her we told you that we know. We are just here to say that we are here for you." Kate? But how did she find out, Sibo would not tell her would she?

"Can you not tell anyone?" They look at each other again, here comes the bad news.

"Everybody already knows." Shit! Shit! Shit! My parents are going to find out.

"Okay, thanks, guys." I jog to the bathroom and I walk into a stall before locking it and crying on the toilet. How does everyone know?

My life is over, I might as well tell Kaiser that I am pregnant because my parents will want to know who is the father and I kind of want to make it seem like I already have a good relationship with him. God, why did I have sex?

After school, I head to Sibo's house. I could not confront Kate without knowing how she knew. If Sibo told her I am going to be shattered because I trusted her.

"Did you tell Kate about Katleho?" She looks surprised but opens the door wider.

"No, why?" Either she is good at lying to me or she didn't.

"Then how has she told the entire school that I have a bun in my oven, where did she get that?" She looks mortified, she runs upstairs. When she gets back into the living room, Kate is behind her. "You little bitch."

"Kamo, sit down and calm down please," Sibo asks of me, I do sit and try not to outburst. "Love, how did you find out about Kamo's pregnancy?" Kate looks caught in a lie, she puts her thumb in her mouth before nibbling on it.

"You received a message from Kamo saying she does not know what to do and I got interested and opened the chat to see the text before that one was one where she is saying she is going to tell Kaiser about the pregnancy."  Sibo comes to sit with me.

"We read each other's chats now?" Sibo asks holding me.

"It is not like that Love, I was curious, I will not do it again, I promise." She gets up from her seat to beg Sibo.

"I'm not the one who you should apologize to, you hurt Kamo, she is pregnant, you think she should be worrying about rumours being spread about her? No. Apologize to Kamo, not me." Sibo gets up and disappears into the kitchen. Kate gets up and looks at me.

"I am sorry." This bitch

"No, you don't mean it and you would do it again if given the chance."

"In a heartbeat but guess what she will forgive me even if you don't." I close the distance between us.

"We will see." I walk into the kitchen, "Can you take me home?" She nods before grabbing her car keys.

"Are you going to forgive her?" I ask as she focuses on driving.

"I am not sure, are you and when are you going to tell Kaiser, stop delaying, rip the bandaid off." Other than the fact that he is a murderer, he would be a perfect father.

"I don't think Kate likes me, maybe it is just my hormones but I feel like she does not like me being this close to you."

"Why do you feel like that, is it something she did or?"

"I am not saying break up with her, I'm just saying one day she will ask you to choose between me or her and that day is coming rather fast." Silence until I get home. "Tomorrow, I promise, I will walk over to his house and talk to him."
