Short 1- Substitute Teacher

My name, is Mona Megistus. I am a substitute teacher for schools in need. However, I have just started my job a few weeks ago... and haven't gotten a single job yet...

A woman with blackish blue hair left her apartment complex. She was wearing a sweater and in sweats. These were her "nice" clothes.

I try and do as much as possible to earn money, but money is the least of my worries. I have no worries for my financial state.

She walked down the street wearing sandals, not having anything else to wear.

A-Anyway, astrology is where I shine. I'm an astrologer, but not one of "those" kind. I take it very seriously. I'm not like "oh, you're definitely a Genemi" or stuff like that. I don't let that define a person. However, I try to read the destiny more...

She turned the corner, checking her bag. In it was a pen, and some paper. That was it. She also had a flip phone in her pocket.

N-No, that doesn't help with my job... but that's besides the point! That's just something about me I thought you'd like to know! A-Anyway, today I'm doing my first substitution! I hope that things will go well, despite my new appearance and experience! I have very high hopes things go well!

I-I need the job...

Fourth Period

"Greetings! I am Mona Megistus, as it says on the board! I'll be your substitute teacher today!" Mona exclaimed, introducing herself. Nobody said anything. There was a long moment of silence.

"Uh... y-your teacher assigned a homework sheet today! C-Come up and get them!" She said. Everyone got up and grabbed a sheet of paper from her desk and went back. Meanwhile, Mona just sat there. Everyone stayed silent, doing their work. There was the usual peep here and there, but that was it. Mona just sat there. Then, someone rose their hand.

"Y-Yes!?" Mona asked. A girl stood up.

"Aren't you that astrology girl? You know, from the internet?" She asked. Mona froze.

"W-What!? I have no idea what you could possibly mean!" She exclaimed. The girl turned her phone at her. It was a woman wearing the exact same clothing. Mona sat there.

"Coincidence!" She said, turning away.

"Mona Megistus, the astrologer. I take this fully seriously, but do not see it like other people. I—" The girl was reading off the caption before Mona cut her off.

"A-Alright! Fine! It's me! Now do you're work!" Mona exclaimed. There was a moment of silence.

"I'm done!" A bit said, raising his hand. Everyone began saying the same thing.

"Fine! Then sit quietly until class is over!" Mona said. People began talking to each other for a bit. Then, someone spoke up.

"Can you do astrology on us?" Someone asked. Mona jumped in shock.

"N-No! It's not a joke I can do leisurely! It takes extreme care! However, I am really good at it..." Mona grinned to herself.

"Then read our "destinies." Someone said. Mona's eye twitched.

"Fine! Once I get set up, you guys can come up one at a time!" Mona exclaimed.

"Hm... yes... you'll be alright. It seems that there's nothing drastic in your future up ahead." Mona said. A boy nodded as he walked back to his desk.

"Alright, what's your name?" Mona asked.

"I-I'm Bennett." He said. Mona nodded.

"Birthday?" She asked.

"February..." He said, getting quiet.

"February what?" She asked.

"29th." He said. Mona stared at him for a moment.

"A-Alright! Let me think." She said. She opened a book of hers and read through it.

"Uh oh..." She muttered.

"Huh?" Bennett asked.

"You're life will be full of malice, but you will prevail! Good things will come after the storm." Mona said. Bennett stared at her, then smiled.

"Thanks!" He grinned. Mona nodded as well.

"He was happy." Mona thought to herself. A girl walked up next.

"What's your name?" Mona asked.

"F-Fischl." She said. Moan nodded

"Birthday?" She asked.

"May 27th." She said. Mona nodded once more.

"Alright, let me think... okay, it seems you've got your hands full. You have a lot going on, even if it doesn't seem like it. But you will have a dark time, until you decide to leave it, that is... that's a confusing one." Mona muttered that last part to herself.

"A-Alright! My thanks, to you, the great astrologer, Mona Megistus!" Fischl exclaimed. She then walked back to her desk. As she did, she glanced over at Bennett, then looked at her desk again and sat down...

I have gotten my pay! This is great!

Mona walked back to her apartment complex, happy yet annoyed. She had to do that with every other class after that.

As you can see, I am a great teacher if anyone would ever need one. However, I am just a substitute now. If I can get a real job, things can be easier... n-not that I need the money.

Mona walked into a store, then walked out with three cups of ramen.

Not at all...
