It's my favorite thing to do. So here I go. Today I'll tell you about a warrior, his name is Ashwathama. I know all the Indians from north to south and from east to west have heard his name. So this story is not for Indians but you can also go through it.

A long time ago,  in the history of India, there were two clans Pandava and Kauravas in Hastinapur. They were sent to get trained in the art of warfare by Guru Dronacharya (Guru means teacher, in ancient times Guru was given highest status by his students, they were ranked equal to God). Dronacharya was the father of Ashwathama. He was trained in the art of warfare along with them and he and his father both were very loyal to Hastinapur.

Pandava was five in number and Kauravas were hundred and they have one sister. All the Pandava married a Princess named Panchali also known as Draupadi.
Kauravas were evil and Pandava were good. Kauravas humiliate Draupadi,  they try to undress her in front of the whole court but a miracle happened, they were not able to do so her saree grow very long that they were tired but unable to remove her saree. (I'll tell the whole story some other time).

Kauravas and Pandavas fought a battle it is known as MAHABHARATA (It is the longest epic of the Indian subcontinent). Ashwathama and his father were at Kauravas's side. In this war, Dronacharya was killed with deceit because he was an immortal and he can die only when he wanted to die. So Pandavas know that if they want to win, they have to kill him and in revenge, Ashwathama decided to kill all the sons of Pandava and he kills them and he even attack a pregnant princess with Brahmastra (it is considered to be the superior weapon in Indian mythology) because she was pregnant with Abhimanyu(one of the sons of Pandava) child.
But Lord Krishna save the child and he cursed Ashwathama for his crimes and said that he will have to live till the end of time in the poorest state possible.

So according to Hindu (one of the major religion in India) mythology, he is still alive and living in a very bad condition.
Mahabharata war believes to happen in the 10th century BCE. However, it is still a controversy whether the war happened or not but we do have a very interesting story.

One of the parts of Mahabharata is GITA. I will always suggest you read this. It is not a religious book, this book has a very practical approach. Whenever in your life you think that nothing is working out, just go for this book and you'll find your way somehow.

Do you know why I talk about Ashwathama all of a sudden? Because yesterday I saw a draft that I made a long time ago. The story revolves around Ashwathama in the present time. It has nothing to do with history, it is a supernatural story. Tell me if you are interested in reading this.
See you later, byeeeeeee for now 😊
