In the empty, dirty factory, the glass windows were in shattered pieces on the ground and couldn't keep the heavy wind and rain out. It was just as cold and damp inside as it was outside, or maybe even worse.

Yin Che closed his eyes, not saying a word more, while the others, who were bored to death, started playing around with their phones.

Time passed minute by minute and second by second, until half past six. First High's evening self-study should've already begun, but Jiang Yao still hadn't returned.

"Zhao Ge, why has that Jiang guy been gone so long?" Pan Hui asked.

"80% likely that he's terrified." Zhao ZhengSheng had waited for a while and was once again getting impatient. He walked over to the guy tied up on the ground and crouched down.

"Little cutie, your boyfriend doesn't want you anymore, what to do, hmm? Give him a call and make him come back here, or else I'll make you suffer."

Yin Che closed his eyes, "Fuck off."

"Hey, still acting so crazy when you look like this." Zhao ZhengSheng stood up. "Don't be so arrogant, listen to me. I remember what you're afraid of."

He rummaged through the pile of batons they'd brought nearby and found the stun baton. "I'll ask you again, gonna make that phone call?"

Yin Che opened his eyes. There wasn't a hint of warmth in his gaze. "I'll answer you again, fuck off."

Zhao ZhengSheng raised his arm and smashed down ruthlessly with the baton. "You can't tell good from bad¹!"

Yin Che suppressed a groan, falling to the ground and rolling away a bit, like a fish thrown ashore, flopping a few times before it stopped moving.

No strength. I'm getting dizzy.

"Playing dead again? You think Laozi will be tricked by that?" Zhao ZhengSheng casually took out a pack of cigarettes, then lit a cigarette and put it to his lips before dialing the phone himself.

"Fuck, he actually hung up."

Yin Che laughed, "So your plan has failed?"

These words completely infuriated Zhao ZhengSheng. "Fuck this. That Jiang guy doesn't even want this boyfriend, so why are we still being so courteous? Hold him down."

The other guys walked over immediately. They untied the rope, then held down his hands and feet. Zhao ZhengSheng kicked him in the stomach, then switched on the stun baton and whipped it down. "In any case, this thing won't shock someone to death. Let's waste some time with it and see who gives up first."

The blows of the baton itself didn't hurt too much, so Zhao ZhengSheng didn't bother hitting him too hard with it.

It was just the throbbing pain in his heart.

Yin Che curled up, trying to keep his important parts as far away as possible, but the electric current still spread to every nook and cranny of his body.

The experience of the electric shock treatment in the hospital let him be able to hold on for a few minutes, but after those few minutes, his line of defense began to crumble.

He twitched and convulsed uncontrollably. His stomach rolled violently and he couldn't stop retching.

The baton kept falling again and again.

Zhao ZhengSheng cursed him out as he thrashed him, the cigarette butt at his lips shining bright in the darkness.

As Yin Che dodged between blows, he inadvertently raised his eyes, caught a glimpse of that orange-red fire and suddenly fell into a daze, forgetting to look away.
