This morning I woke up before Serenity did. Usually it's the other way around. She's always the first to wake up early in the mornings because she's used to waking up at the same time our daughter does.
I wake up minutes after she wakes up though.
I think that now she's taking the opportunity to get extra sleep since Alessandra isn't here to jump on the bed to wake us up. I notice a few thin strands of hair fall onto her face so I carefully use my hand to move it away.
"You know it's rude to watch people sleep."
I smile. "You're acting as if you never watched Alessandra sleep."
"I'm allowed to do that because I'm her mamá."
"What are you feeling for breakfast this morning?" I ask, changing the subject. "I'm craving ramen this morning."
"Really?"
"You sound surprised." She gives me a peck on the lips before sitting up and running her fingers through her hair.
"That's because I am, love." I chuckle. "Don't get me wrong, I know how much you love ramen but you never eat it unless it's a midnight snack or you eat it so it fills you up so you can make it until lunch or dinner."
"Well. If you want to eat ramen with me, I'll make some after I take a shower." She closes the bathroom door behind her and a few minutes later I hear the water turn on. I got out of bed shortly after and made it before heading downstairs to start on breakfast.
