I wake up to the sound of Elijah's voice. I notice he's not beside me but instead right next to my stomach. His hand resting on my nine month pregnant belly with his thumb drawing small circles.
I can't make out what he's saying but I don't need to because I know he's talking with our son. As he continues to have his little conversation, my hand makes its way to the top of his head and my fingers tangle within his hair.
"Sorry, did I wake you?"
"Yeah . . . I don't mind though. I love seeing you like this."
"Only a few days until we meet our son, love." He holds himself up over me before laying a few kisses on my lips.
"I'm not really looking forward to being in labor for a long time though." I manage to lay on my side, which happens to be the most comfortable sleeping position for me these past few months.
"You'll be okay, Serenity." He kisses my forehead. "Rest now, love. I know you've been feeling exhausted these past few days."
