Surprise y'all!! I am back! I went and rewatched Season 1-2, slowly getting to 3 and am sooo excited to find little bits to add to this story!

CHAPTER 43:

The blonde man who had been asked to go get lunch with a pair of his best karate students, spins on his heel with narrowed eyes. Deep down he had known the offer was a little too good to be true since it had been out of the blue, but still he had accepted in good knowledge the pair were the best of news. Zelena raise her hands slowly until they are on either side of her head, "I am going to get to the point." An unpleasant bubbling arises in the pit of his stomach fairly close to the version of it that arose in him when he'd found out through the grapevine about Zelena's accident. The aversion of her eyes from his to the top of her Converse does nothing to ease the discomfort nor does the way her hands lower to rest on top of her thighs. "I went to see Robby in the detention center before he got out and I told him I would always be there for him-"

"You just can't leave things alone. Can you, Bloom?" The edge in his voice cuts through the thickened skin of this incredibly brave teen who winces at the loud tone.

But her arms rise on either side of her, spread like an eagle, with her palms facing upward. "You know what?" She half laughs, "I can't. Not until I see them through and have exhausted every possible avenue-"

Johnny intervenes this outpouring of her heart before she can reach what he is aware is coming. "Including yourself." A heavy sigh fills the silence between the trio who've stopped just before the small pavement crossing to be on the sidewalk beside the restaurant. "Giving up isn't necessarily unhealthy, especially when you're exhausting every part of you just to make others happy."

She sees the desperation pooling in the blue eyes Robby definitely inherited. And for a moment, this guilt eats away at her heart. Her voice softens, quieting in surrender. "I made him a promise and I intend to keep it."

His volume lowers to match hers, "Promises can have expirations." His hands enclose around her shoulders, hoping that the simplicity of both his words and touch would ease the emotions swirling in her eyes.

Zelena leans into the comfort his fatherly touch brings, but shakes her head side to side, "Not mine."

Her words echo in his ears, repeating in his via vibrant letters of her rebellious phrase that defines her to her very core. The very quality he both loves and hates the most in this young woman that he's holding at an arm's length. Many possible responses pop up around the visual representation of her profound claim but all are extraordinarily underwhelming in comparison. So he does the most sane thing he can.

His tough exterior crumbles, beginning at his facial expression before sliding down the length of his arms that bend, pulling Zelena's frame against his in the wake of his "destruction".

Her face rests against the right side of his chest, pressed there by her Sensei's arms who has become yet another version of a father figure in her life. Her lips curve at the ends as warmth of happiness spreads throughout her body. Both remain in this father-daughter embrace for moments Johnny cherishes, slightly fearful to release something that feels the most secure and lasting to him than anything has in a long time. Ever since he'd found Cobra Kai- even before that if he was brutally honest with himself- anything he had cherished in his life had come to him, hit a high point, and drifted out of his life. Ali, his mother, any sort of fleeting father figures he had (or didn't really have for that point), any job really, Sharon, Cobra Kai, especially Robby. Robby. "Why did you ask about Robby?"

"He took me up on an offer I made him before he became Kreese's student." Zelena attempts to ease into the conversation that visually affected the normally unaffected hard ass.
