"It was a hell of a way to die." I roam my hand on the desk to grasp my phone. Squinting my eyes to adjust to the brightness, 6:58. Two more minutes for the alarm to go off.

Another sleepless night, good morning junior year.

Brushing my teeth, my mind keeps thinking of any and every thing that could go wrong today.

"You're overthinking again." I tell myself, making a half up ponytail.

Thirty minutes of breakfast, mum and dad advising me and Raine on surviving yet another school year, we're on the stop, waiting for the bus. The morning feels still with not a single breath of wind nor a cloud in the sky. Shaking my fists and blowing out a huge puff, I step in.

"Missed me?"

"You wish." We both laugh and start talking as if we haven't seen each other in ages. That's how it's always been with Hadie. We keep chatting all the way to school as the bus stops every now and then. I see a lot of new faces but pay more heed to what my best friend is saying.

"I hope it's a good year". I mumble watching her redo her shoelace.

The bus, coming to a halt.
