Dalia's POV

I walked around the city for a few minutes before I went home. I made it home by 6:45. Everyone was wandering around in the kitchen and living room when I got back.

"You coming with?" Dallas asked. "We're leaving."

I sighed. "Yeah... give me a second." I said trying to sound like I wasn't sad.

I grabbed my backpack and put every single pair of shoes, pants, shirts, and jackets I could fit.

Then I grabbed all the money I owned. It wasn't much, but it would get me through. I wasn't really ready for what was to come. I felt lost. I never had to survive on my own before.

But I guess there's a first time for everything...

I was ready in five minutes and when I walked back into the living room, everyone was almost ready to walk to the lot to get Darry's car.

Sodapop put his backpack on and then everyone was ready. We walked down the stairs and got to the car. 20 hours later we were at the Curtis' house and I was exhausted.

It was a cramped, long, exhausting, sweaty car ride. I took a shower, put the damn burn cream on, and tried to go to bed, but my rib was killing me. Passing out didn't do it well.

I ended up falling asleep next to the couch. I woke up to a large press against my leg.

"OW!" I yelled.

"My bad." Steve said lifting his foot off my leg.

I groaned and sat up. Thank God it was the leg that wasn't burnt to a crisp.

Darry made everyone dinner and Soda and Ponyboy unpacked their clothes. Two-Bit and Steve both laid on the couch and Dallas seemed on edge. I didn't think Dallas really cared for family. Even Dalton. But maybe he was upset about it.

"Alright. I'm leaving." Dally said.

"You gonna bring your sister?" Two-Bit asked. I rolled my eyes. It was weird having people say it.

"Nah, I'm heading to Windrixville. Some... uhh... legal stuff with the whole murder charges and hiding people and... yeah all that stuff. I'll be back tomorrow." Dallas said slamming the door.

I felt like he was lying. When I went through his bathroom, he had all those tickets to and from Windrixville all over his counter. I felt like it was something else. But I didn't know what.

"Hey, Dalia. Come here." Sodapop whispered.

I looked around and everyone was doing their own thing. I walked out back with him and he seemed... anxious.

"What's up?" I asked.

"You need to follow Dallas." He said quickly.

"What? Follow Dallas? Why?" I asked, nervously.

"I-I can't tell you. Otherwise I'll get my head knocked in. But trust me. You need to follow him."

"To Windrixville? I don't really wanna go back there..." I mumbled.

"I really wanna tell you. But later I can tell Dallas I didn't. I highly doubt he's going to do legal stuff. I overheard him say something in New York that was... quite shocking. You need to go follow him. Please."

He seemed passionate about me following him. I trusted Soda. I did. But going to Windrixville wasn't exactly apart of my plan...

"Alright. I'll follow him."

We started to go back inside and I grabbed money outta my bag. "Do you mind if I leave my stuff here for a the night? Or however long I'm gone for?"

"Yeah go ahead." He got quieter. "And don't let Dallas know you're following him. Trust me."

I got nervous. "Alright..." I mumbled.

I ran to the train station and I didn't see Dallas at all. I walked up to the girl at the booth. "Hey, again!" She said joyfully. "Let me guess, Windrixville?"

I couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah." I said putting a few coins on the counter.

"Alright, the train is boarding now. Have a safe ride!" She said, smiling.

I grabbed the ticket and hesitantly walked in the train. I didn't want Dallas to see me. I was nervous about this. I felt like a stalker.

But I got on the train and I didn't see him. I took the closest seat to the front I could find and then looked back to make sure Dallas still couldn't see me. This way I had an opportunity to bolt out of here before Dallas notices.

The train ride dragged on and as soon as everyone was clear to get off, I bolted outta there. I shoved past five people which made me feel bad, but oh well.

I hid behind the actual train station until I noticed Dally getting off the train. He walked over to a car and got in and turned it on. He was gonna start driving.

Dammit! How was I supposed to follow him now?

I walked around for a second. "Hey! Excuse me!" I yelled to the cool red car that was about to pass me. "Can I get a ride?" I asked trying to sound flirty.

"Anything for you, darlin'. Where are we going?"

I walked up close to the door. It was a guy around my age. I was pretty manipulative so I didn't see a problem with getting what I wanted. "I really need to follow that guy. But inconspicuously. You think you can do that?" I asked.

"Sure thing. Hop in, sugar." He said with a cocky grin.

I grinned and jumped into the car. I know I was supposed to be following Dally and keep my focus on that, but I felt like a rich girl in this car.

We started following Dallas the guy driving me around was doing a real good job at hiding and keeping it pretty secretive.

But I couldn't help but notice how nice of a car Dallas was driving. But I did notice his plates said February and I know his birthday is in November.

Who's birthday is in February that would let Dallas borrow their car?
