FOUND

CHAPTER TWO

DANIEL:

I'm running down the road to Sofia's house, it's a chilly morning but I couldn't care less about a jacket right now, after I woke up in bed next to Sally and realisation of what I had done began to set in.

I immediately jumped out of bed, picked up my discarded clothes and ran out the door, with Sally right behind me calling my name but I tune her out and focus on the task at hand.

I reach Sofia's house after about 20 mins and the place looks very quiet, maybe they're still asleep. I decide to knock, but there's no answer. Knocking turns to loud banging but still no answer. I try calling her and her sister's names but no answer, maybe they're not home.

Then their neighbour, Miss Maggie comes out to her porch and looks at me. From that look, I just knew. Before she even opened her mouth, I knew that she was gone.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

The sound of my alarm wakes me up, as I reach out to turn it off I feel stirring beside me, then I hear a sleepy voice,
'Babe, turn it off'.
I don't answer, as guilt fills me. Guilt I've been feeling for over 6 years, everytime I have that dream.
I should never have stayed with Sally but after Sofia left, things Went downhill for me but Sally was the one constant in my life. We even went to the same College and now we're engaged and living together, not my idea tho. I don't even think I love her, well I don't think I can love anyone else.

I walk to my bathroom for my morning routine, as I wash my hands at the mirror I picture her beautiful face, her baby blu eyes, her shiny long hair, her dimples, her smooth laugh and the tears in her eyes after I hurt her.

I quickly shower before Sally wakes up, so she doesn't guilt trip me into some morning sex. We've been doing alot of that lately and I think she's trying to get pregnant, and I'm not just ready for that.
I tie a towel around my waist and walk to my walk in closet to get dressed for the day day, it's weekend but I have some meetings to attend. I'm the CEO of my own Tech Company, I'm doing pretty well for myself. I put on a Maroon dress shirt with black slacks and black dress shoes, I leave the two top buttons open. I brush my hair and keep it neat, I put on some cologne and walk back into the bedroom.

I see Sally Is already awake, I kiss her forehead before she can reach for my lips

D- 'Goodmorning'.
S- 'Morning baby'.
D- ' I'm off, see you later'
S- 'babe wait, don't forget to meet me at the Real estate company later, so we can pick the new house'
D- ' I'm not sure but I'll try'
S- 'Again Dan? You always do this'

Here we go, I roll my eyes subtly.

D- ' i said I'll try okay? Be safe'
S- ' you too. Love you'

I just walk out quickly before she throws a tantrum because I didn't say it back. I rush to the kitchen, pick an apple and walk out of my apartment to the elevator.

I have a Condo in a high rise building but Sally is making us get a house because according to her 'The apartment is going to be too small for our family'. I don't complain because maybe this is my punishment for hurting Sofia and I'm probably going to live the rest of my life unhappy.

The elevator opens at the lobby and I walk out to the parking lot and get into my car. After texting my assistant to get everything ready, I begin the drive to work...
