Fortunately for his sanity, the escort Knight soon realises each of them specialises in different areas. There is no need to compare, so he doesn't have to feel like he has trained for nothing. He is still a qualified Knight!

The realisation happens when the sun is about to set as the escort Knight suddenly brakes the carriage that is passing by the outskirts of a forest leading to a City which will be their next stop to rest for the night.

Flos looks up from checking her luggage while Rhythm wakes up from his doze. Scratching his head, covering a yawn, Rhythm opens the door slightly to ask the Knight, "Bathroom break?"

The escort Knight is now standing in front of the carriage's door. Hearing Rhythm's question, he shakes his head, "That's not it. I heard the howl of a wolf,"

"In this hour?" Flos frowns as she stares at the bright sky

"They are near," the Knight adds as he scans their surroundings, "Please close the door and stay inside to be safe. I will take care of the wolf pack quickly,"

Flos stays unmoving inside the carriage while Rhythm closes the door after telling the escort Knight to be careful. Both of them watch on curiously as the Knight unsheathes a short sword. It is a literal short sword, as it is shorter than the sword normally used by Knights.

"The wolves are near?" abruptly reflecting what the escort Knight has said, Rhythm frowns slightly, "Don't wolves usually hunt deep in the forest or the mountain?"

"Do you think you can win against a wolf?" Flos suddenly asks her childhood friend

"1 wolf, I think I can win," her childhood friend also answers, "1 pack, no way I can win,"

Flos looks at the escort Knight thoughtfully, "What about him?"

"He is covered in armour, so he won't die from the wolves' bites. I don't know how other things will affect him though," Rhythm muses as he rubs his chin in thought

"If he can't take them on by himself, should we help?" Flos continues to ask

"Sure," Rhythm agrees pretty easily, not at all minding whose job is supposed to protect whom, "If he loses, we are pretty much done for anyway," considering the escort Knight is the 1 pulling the carriage, so no horses for them to use to run away

However, looking at the bright side: if the carriage is pulled by horses, the horses will probably go mad with fear and might, instead, endanger the passengers inside the carriage with their commotions. So, they should also make sure the Knight is safe and sound while protecting them.

Rhythm looks around the carriage, trying to find an opening. Seeing none, he then asks Flos, "Should I make 1?"

"No damaging others' property. Especially the Queen's carriage," Flos shakes her head, rejecting Rhythm's suggestion. After thinking about it, Flos rummages through her luggage and takes out a pouch whilst giving an arrangement, "Just open the door when the Knight is distracted by the wolves,"

It might put them in danger, but Rhythm trusts Flos's judgement; especially since he knows what is inside that pouch. So, when the wolf pack really comes and fights the escort Knight, Rhythm is ready to open the door at Flos's signal.

Flos watches as the Knight skillfully manoeuvres around the wolves while killing them. It doesn't look like he will be in trouble. After all, the wolves are slower than the Knight, who is supposedly weighed down by his armour.

After a brief struggle, with the Knight making quick works on the wolves, Rhythm then turns to Flos, "It doesn't seem like I need to go and help him,"

Flos keeps her eyes on the door, staring at the reflections on the glass, "You think so?"
