[Hopekook] First Steps pt2

"Hyung?" Jungkook says, voice laced with sadness and he looked at Hoseok, holding an envelope that was given by him after waiting for a week. Hoseok looks back, smiling as he sees his husband.
"Yes, honey?" Hoseok asks, looking at Jungkook and down at the envelope.

"Oh, is that your results?" Hoseok asks, not knowing what's gonna come. Jungkook nodded and they walked to the living room. Sitting down, Jungkook grabbed Hoseok's hand and held it tight. Hoseok is confused, but didn't say anything as he didn't wanna pressure the younger.

"Babe..." Jungkook says and shakily gave the envelope to the older. Hoseok frowns but took the envelope and carefully unfolded it. Reading it all, Jungkook how Hoseok's expression changed. It broke his heart, but if he hid it... It'll be too late.

Hoseok dropped the paper, hands shaking but he grabbed Jungkook's hands.
"Jungkook, you can't leave us" Hoseok says as tears formed in his eyes. Jungkook's heart broke more, he couldn't stare at him.
"This... This must be a mistake... This can't be true, right? Honey? This isn't true, this is just a dream" Hoseok says as he cupped Jungkook's cheek. Because of this, Jungkook's tears finally feel.

"I'm so sorry, hyung" Jungkook says, hugging Hoseok. The older hugged back, tight like Jungkook's gonna disappear any second now. The result said that he had a terminal illness and it can't cured, he only has 2 months to live.
"I'll... I'll make sure you have your last 2 months a happy one... I don't want you to die sad" Hoseok says, smiling as he kissed Jungkook's hand.

"Baby, when will you say your first word, huh? Papa's waiting" Hoseok says as he carried their child in his arms. Jungkook smiled, staring at his baby as he caressed her soft chubby cheeks weakly.
"Hyung... I'm tired" Jungkook says and Hoseok's heart broke. He knew this day will come but he isn't ready. He looked at Jungkook, if it's means his husband will not be in pain, then he can let go now.

Hoseok forces a smile and kissed Jungkook's forehead.
"Then rest, my love... In another life" Hoseok says, smiling even if tears had fell down his cheeks. Jungkook smiled back and weakly wiped Hoseok's tear, kissing him one last time.
"I love you... We'll meet again.... " Jungkook says before he closes his eyes. Hoseok starts to cry as he hears the loud beep with a flat line. Their baby starts to cry too, like he had felt what her dad is feeling.

"I love you too... "
