CHAPTER 02   LIGHT BULBS

the smashed vase was still lying on the floor as the males' attention was drawn to the poor h/c-haired girl, who was in complete shock.

"oh, that's horrible. we were supposed to sell the vase for 13 million dollars," kazuha sighed. '13 million dollars?!' y/n thought in disbelief.

"i-uh-" you couldn't even construct a sentence owing to the circumstance you'd put yourself in.

"you're in debt now," albedo remarked, taking out his notebook and scribbling something down. "i wonder how you'd pay so much because you're a mere commoner."

"that's alright!" venti said as he hugged the girl. "perhaps you could join our host club to pay off the debt." the lad surprisingly gave her eyes hope.

this time, the female didn't push him away since she was deep in thought, which suggests they genuinely thought of him as a boy. which means... she can steal the ladies?

"however, to be able to recruit you, you'll need to gain 500 customers within the week," xiao said, his eyes meeting yours. you can't tell whether this emo teenager is interested in the conversation because he didn't show any emotion and kept a poker face.

coming to a conclusion, a grin went up to your lips, "i like women, so sure i'll join the host club." you accepted the offer, and it was at this point that nearly everyone was confused by your statement. except for a particular teal-eyed guy who raised one of his eyebrows in interest.

among the six light bulbs, the first one turned on.

"ohhhh, i thought you were gay." venti dragged out the 'oh', realization finally smacking him on the face. though he wondered as to why you flushed when he tried to seduce you.

"do you think he'll be able to attract customers in such commoner clothes?" aether inquired, drawing everyone's attention to him.

"this might fit you," kazuha said as he nodded in accord and took out a brand-new boy's uniform.

xiao approached your figure and took off your glasses, "you'll also have to get rid-" he wasn't even able to finish his sentence once his eyes saw your e/c ones. "i can get rid of it!" you quickly exclaimed, snatching your glasses from him and putting them back on.

the second light bulb began to glow.

"let me accompany you to our changing room, y/n," kazuha suggested, and you accepted because you didn't have any other option. the two of them walked towards the room, y/n trailing behind kazuha, who was holding the uniform.

"you can change now, and i'll see if this outfit is too small for you," kazuha said as he pushed the curtains to the side and walked inside.

you responded with a nod, snatching the uniform and shoving him out the curtains. the white-haired boy tilted his head, confused as to why you shoved him out of the way, "how can i-" suddenly an 'oh' came out of his mouth.

after learning a secret, kazuha told you, "take your time, miss y/n."

the third light bulb turned on, leaving three others unlit.

you sighed, and it took them a while to figure out that you're a girl. but, for the sake of your debt, you'll have to pretend to be a boy, which you don't mind because it'll make you get the girls.

you start by removing your black sweater, then unbuttoning your long sleeve collar shirt, leaving you by your f/c-bra and black slacks.

unconscious of an approaching presence behind the curtain, the braided boy was about to give you the forgotten necktie when he felt his body froze as he slid the curtain back.

the fourth light bulb lit up.

"i told you not to go in!" scolded kazuha as he drew venti away from your view. you deadpanned at this, well, at least they're slowly figuring out that you're a girl, which you shrugged at.

kazuha's hand then suddenly appeared from the curtains, giving you the necktie, which you accepted.

'the white-haired boy sounds like a boyfriend material, wait no- don't think about this y/n now. you like women.' you thought to yourself as you put on the white long-sleeved shirt. you slowly buttoned your shirt and retrieved the necktie from your chair, tying it around your neck.

after a few minutes, you had successfully worn the expensive uniform. a grey blazer with white and gray patterned pants to match, black school shoes, and a black necktie around your neck

towards the mirror, the e/c-eyed girl examined herself and gently removed her glasses. she chuckled quietly to herself, 'i could fall in love with myself.'
