"How much longer do I have to stay here?"

"Miss, please try and relax. Please calm down"

"Calm down? How can I calm down? I've been stuck here for so long now. I mean I'm fine. Why won't you let me go home?"

"That's not up to me. The head doctor has to decide to discharge you"

"Well, why doesn't he or she?"

"Ask them when they come by later. For now, just try and relax"

Caitlin lay down. She had nothing better to do, so why not? She was sick of being in this bed and in this room. She just wanted to go home and resume her life. She had decided that enough was enough. She was going to beg the doctor to discharge her. They couldn't keep her here, against her own will. She waited the whole day, and it was early evening before the doctor came around to see her

"Why can't I go home?"

"It's because of your vitals"

"What do you mean? I've been told that they are perfect. Do I look unwell to you?"

"No, you look absolutely fine"

"Then?"

"That's just it. They are fine during the day. It's at night we have to worry"

"What do you mean?"

"We've been observing you for a few days now. Every night when you're sleeping, something happens to you. We don't know what. But your heartbeat increases. You sweat so much, you soak the sheets. Your blood pressure shoots up. You moan and scream. You struggle to get your breathing under control"

"What does that mean?"

"It's like you are having a heart attack, but we've run tests on your heart and it's totally fine. Now if we let you go home, and something happened, we would be ruined. Everyone would blame us, and we'd get sued. So now do you see why we can't let you go?"

"So I'm a test subject for you?"

"We just want to know what is happening to you, so we can get you better and send you home. I'm sure that you must be dying to go home"

"Definitely"

"Well then, let us do what we need to"

Caitlin collapsed into her bed. What was wrong with her? What was happening to her every night, to cause this? She was so bored. She just wanted to go to home, and resume her normal life. What was happening, that they couldn't figure out? Hopefully they would soon realise that she was okay and she could go home. She shut her eyes

"Where am I?"

Caitlin was sure she was having an out of body experience, as she sat on a seat in a bus, watching herself and some of her friends, travelling back to her home town. She quickly prepared to get off, and follow herself and her friends around. She watched as she pushed one of her friends down the steps

"What are you doing stupid? Imagine if I fell. Then what would you do?"

"I was just practicing. These roads and area are all topsy turvy. If you start falling now, you'll never stop. Hold on tight"

"Look Caitlin, that guy is staring at us"

Caitlin walked over to him

"What do you want? Never seen a group of girls before?"

Caitlin and the girls walked over to her driver

"Can I have the keys? I know the way home. I want to drive me and my friends"

Caitlin was busy arguing with her driver, when she heard a person shouting at her. She angrily turned around. It was him

"What do you want?"

"Kindly move your car. It's blocking my horses way. Otherwise my horse will have to trample all over your car"

Caitlin moved her car, and watched the horse go

"Are you still living in the old ages? Move with the times. Get yourself a car"

He threw Caitlin a dirty look, and went about his way

"Caitlin, we dare you"

Caitlin drove away

"Are you giving up?"

"One thing about me is I never back away from a dare. I always fulfil it. If not today, then tomorrow. But I will do it. You know me"

Caitlin drove her car. She loved the feeling of the windows down and the feeling of the wind in her hair. She leant out of the window, and felt the wind on her face. She was loving it. Suddenly she had to brake, as there was a flock of sheep in front of her

"Caitlin look, there he is"

Caitlin gave the wheel to her friend and got out. She ran to the horse

"Pull me up"

"What? Why?"

"I'll explain later. Just do it"

"No"

He went off, with Caitlin staring daggers at him. Her friends pulled up, as she got in

"It's okay. Your allowed to lose once"

"But that's just it, I don't lose. I'll get that ride, I promise you that"

Caitlin and her friends drove home. Caitlin hugged everyone

"I've thrown you a huge welcome home party. Quickly go and get ready"

"I'm not in the mood for a party"

Caitlin ran upstairs

"What's happened to her? Why's she so upset?"

"She lost a dare"

Caitlin opened her eyes. What was that?
