{12.2} Unruly

{Aspen's POV}

Mine and Balors return had a range of reactions from everyone. When we got home, everyone was waiting in the livingroom. Balor, Hudson and I walked inside and got everyone's attention quickly.

Kohen and Ambrose flew up from the couch and came over to us. Ambrose quickly assessed me for injuries before pulling me into a hug. I'm still getting used to those but I'm starting to find them comforting. Kohen gave me a pat on the shoulder and walked past me, out of the room

Sorin asked if I was okay and after repeatedly telling him I'm fine, he was semi-convinced.

Jasper looked at us both and I swear I saw relief come across his face. He got up and left the room without a word.

Caspian spoke to Hudson first, then Balor, then me. He asked if I was okay and I told him yes. It was almost disappointing, I thought he would have been a little more relieved.

I think I expected too much.

I almost feel like they should've been more excited or relieved even that we were back. It makes me wonder how much they really care.

I was honestly hoping for a smile.

But that was wishful thinking I suppose.

Balor, Ambrose and Caspian went up to his office, leaving Sorin, Hudson and I in the livingroom.

I think Sorin saw the disappointment on my face because he apologized for them when they left. I told him it was fine but he was less than convinced.

F*ck I couldn't even convince myself.

I left to my room to be alone for a while. I think Sorin could see I needed it. When I got to my room I slept.

And I mean slept.

For 24 f*cking hours straight.

It wasn't even physical exhaustion, it was mental. This whole situation absolutely drained me and I could feel it.

That brings us to the present.

I just woke up from my slumber. I've been procrastinating going downstairs because I can already anticipate the interrogation waiting for me. I'm hiding under my covers, messing with my rubiks cube.

We can't forget Quest who is cuddling with me as well. He has been absolutely amazing this whole time. While I was sleeping, Sorin had to bribe him out of my room to let him use the washroom outside.

Speaking of that, I hear my door open. I assume it's Sorin here for Quest so I take the cover off my face.

Imagine my surprise when I see Caspian and not Sorin.

I regret now showing I'm awake. I should've just pretended I was asleep.

Who am I kidding? Cas would've seen right through that anyways.

He closes my door behind him and makes his way to my bed, taking a seat on the side.

"You're finally awake." He comments.

"Mhm"

"We're you ever even asleep?" He asks.

He knows me too well.

"I was actually. I just woke up a couple minutes ago." I tell him truthfully.

"Good." He replies with a nod, "I wanted to talk to you about what happened there."
