Chapter 15: Do it for Jeongwoo?

Chaeyoung was shocked to find Jaehyun waiting for her at the entrance of the hospital after she knocked off.

"Why are you here?" Chaeyoung asked, feeling a little uncomfortable as she was afraid that Jaehyun's appearance in the hospital would spark gossips again, especially after her commotion with Naeun a few days earlier.

"I am here to bring you out for dinner, and to speak to you something about Jeongwoo." Jaehyun replied calmly.

Chaeyoung was initially reluctant, but hearing that it's regarding Jeongwoo, she agreed.

At the dinner.

"How's work recently? Anything special to share?" Jaehyun smiled, showing his dimples.

"Nothing much, it's as usual." Chaeyoung replied. She didn't want to mention the commotion between Naeun and her as she did not want to cause a burden to Jaehyun.

Jaehyun simply hummed and nodded, but in actual fact, he was disappointed with the fact that Chaeyoung didn't mention about the commotion. A huge part of him hoped that Chaeyoung would share with him everything about her life, including things that upset her.

"Chaeyoung ah, I have thought about it. Let's register our marriage."

Chaeyoung looked up in surprise, "what?"

"I wished to give Jeongwoo a complete family. I don't wish people to be calling him names when he doesn't have a father."

"Oh.." Chaeyoung looked down, seemingly deep in thoughts. Part of her guessed that Jaehyun might have heard about the commotion.

"I have transferred to another military base."

"Why?" Chaeyoung received another shock.

"Because of Naeun. I knew she looked for you and I think it's better that I stay away from her. So, I have decided, after registering for our marriage, let's move out and stay together as a family of three. I am not sure if it's too much to ask from you, but will you consider transferring to the military hospital near my new military base instead? So it's more convenient for me to take care of you and Jeongwoo."

Chaeyoung was shocked beyond words. Within the short period of five minutes, Jaehyun bombarded her with so many  decisions to make, registering for marriage, moving to a new house as a family, and asking her transferring to a new workplace with him.

In actual fact, Jaehyun had given all these very careful thoughts. He knew that Chaeyoung would be uncomfortable with the idea of shifting in to stay with his family, so finding a new house for just the three of them seems better.

"Sorry, but I don't wish to transfer," Chaeyoung replied very carefully after a few moments of silence.

There was an obvious look of disappointment in Jaehyun's eyes as he thought Chaeyoung was rejecting all three proposals from him.

"But... for registering our marriage and moving out together, let me know your plans? We are doing it for Jeongwoo right?" Chaeyoung continued, in the same careful tone.
