Y/n's POV

Within the hour everyone had arrived and our home was bustling with chatter. There were groups of people huddled around the dining table, lounging on the sofas and collecting in the hallway. I passed around coffee's and glasses of champagne. The children darted between our legs as they played in peace. I joined Natasha in her discussion with Fury, Maria and Clint. They were talking about the old days when Nat was an early S.H.I.E.L.D agent. Over the years I had pieced together that there was some sort of history between my wife and her former work partner. I watched as Maria tentatively listened to Nat joke, her eyes flitted from Nat's lips to her eyes and I felt a pang of jealousy ripple through me. There was no reason, they had never had any romantic interaction since Nat and I had been together but that didn't make the feeling go away. I slid my fingers in between Nat's so that I could hold her hand. She looked at me reassuringly and subtly winked at me.

I took a deep breath and looked around the room. Bruce was laughing with Rhodey and Wanda while Sam was approaching Tony. All seemed to be going well.

I mingled for a little while longer before slipping into the kitchen to put more food out. People began to settle into a larger group and bigger discussions bubbled through the crowd. I felt a smile spread across my warm cheeks as I watched my friends laughing and chatting happily. There was no underlying fear or feeling of loss among the group. It was just the lot of us enjoying each others company and celebrating the end of years of suffering.

"I'd like to make a toast." Fury rose from his seat. He was the man who started it all, perhaps he had less of a hand in my story but for many people in the room he provided them with a purpose or a fresh start. Without Nick there would be no Avengers, not family and no people for me to call home.

We all raised out glasses.

"A toast to the Avengers, to those here today, to those who couldn't make it. A toast to the people who won and the people we lost in the fight. Over the years we've seen our losses but finally... finally we've made it out to the other side. So a toast to new beginnings." The man smiled.

Glasses around the room chimed together, "To new beginnings." We all repeated. Even the children bumped their juice boxes together.

I stood up from my seat on Natasha's lap. Everyone turned to look at me. "Thank you all for coming today, it means a lot to me that you could be here. Tonight we celebrate, hero style. Let's have fun and party enough to make up for these past few years."

Natasha stood too. "We've had our fair share of rotten luck, losing again and again. We lost it all but now we're lucky enough to have a second chance. You only live once so let's make the most of it." Nat downed her glass of wine and smirked at me. Everyone stood quickly and downed their own drink.

Chatter resumed and more food was shared around. Haz, Morgan and Nate came over excitedly asking if they could play outside. I glanced at my watch, it was only 3.30pm. "Come on then." I beamed and we went out into the garden to play their games. Lila, Peter, Tony, Wanda and Bucky followed us outside.

"Aunty Y/n?" Nate looked up to me with wide eyes. It was the first time anyone had called me that. I knew that called Natasha Aunty but I never expected them to call me it as well. I smiled down at the boy with messy brown hair.

"Yes?"

"Can you show us some of your magic please?" He asked politly. I wiggled my fingers and purple sparks flew from my fingers.

"You mean this magic?" I raised an eyebrow at the boy as his face lit up with excitement.

A ribbon of red light swirled around me and I felt the tingle of magic it brought with it. Wanda walked over, smiling.
