Roseanne's POV

“Rosie?”

Jisoo shuffles closer as her eyes meet mine. I let out a soft sigh. My hand still caressing Chaeyoung’s hair. The little baby has fallen asleep waiting for her mama to come back home and my heart breaks again and again at the thought of telling her that maybe, Lisa wouldn’t come back for us ever again.

“What?” I gulp, refusing to look at the standing woman. Jisoo seems to understand so I relax a little. But when she opens her mouth again with Jennie standing a few steps from us, I tense a little. “I need to talk to you, in private”

“Last time we talked in private” I snap as I look at her direct in the eyes. “It didn’t end well” my hand taps the shoulder of my baby daughter on my lap and Jisoo clenches her jaws. “It was different, Rosie. I’m with someone else now”

“I was with someone else before” I clap back and she gives me an incredulous look as if asking me if this is the right moment for us to chew each other for all the mistakes that we have done against one another. “And I’m still am now, Jisoo. So, please. Please just walk away. I need not to see you here”

“Rosie” Jennie coos behind my back. Her hand reaching for my shoulder and when she does, she holds it for a few seconds before clearing her throat. “Go talk to her. I think Jisoo has something to tell you”

“If she wants to talk, she can talk about it here, in front of you”

“Yeah, but we have a baby here” Jennie points to the sleeping dumpling on my lap. “Go on” she nudges my shoulder with her own. “I’ll take care of the baby”

It takes everything in me to agree and when I do, I point towards the balcony that I used to sit with Lisa and Jisoo agrees. She locks the door behind her once we stand by the railing. Dark skies break my heart further as I think where Lisa could be. “I talked to someone and they told me they saw Lisa at my mom’s place”

That makes me frown. “Why would she be there?”

I ask. My voice is none other than skeptical. “There are lots of places in Seoul, Jisoo. Why would she be in your mom’s place”

“Because Kim Chun Ja hates her a lot and she wouldn’t let Lisa go no matter what. That’s how my mom truly is”

Jisoo explains, her face is filled with great embarrassment. “I think we have to go there now and drag her back home before my mom fills her with more lies that will complicate our situation right now”

“I don’t understand” I pant. “What does your mom has against Lisa anyway? And our family?”

“Easy” Jisoo folds her arms before her eyes meet mine. “She wants the money, Roseanne. The fame and the wealth that the Kim - Manoban owns. She wants them all for herself. That’s why she married Ha Joon. That’s why she kicked Lisa from the home. That’s why she ..."

Jisoo pauses for a second, shaking her head slightly. "Can't tell her that" she mutters to herself but I frown deeper once she looks at me again. "What you can't tell me?"

"Roseanne, it's nothing important"

She pulls herself together. "We have to go and get Lisa. That's our focus now"

"No"

I stand in my ground, not wanting to give in until I figure out what Jisoo is hiding from me.

"Tell me, Jisoo. You know something more than I do. You know this hatred isn't only about wealth and fame. You know that very well"

"I do not"

Jisoo breathes out. "Come on, Roseanne. We have to go and get Lisa"

"No"
