in which nishimura ayame is struggling with her mental health and home life and yang jungwon tries to help her but nothing could ever go right for...
he next morning, ayame woke up and sat up in bed, looking over at her sleeping brother
"we still have school.." she bit her lip, not knowing what to do since their uniforms and bags were at home.
ayame was in her thoughts for a few minutes before there was a knock at the door, "ayame..niki..it's haewon. can i come in?"
"we're awake" ayame responded and then the door opened.
haewon walked in and smiled at ayame, "did you sleep well?"
ayame nodded with a small smile on her face, "i did..thank you but i'm also sorry for barging in last night..i just uhm..didn't know what to do last night"
haewon patted ayame's back, "you seem to have something going on in your life and i'm not going to budge it out of you but whenever you're ready, i'm here for you alright? jungwon is also here for you. he likes you a lot"
just from that little sentence, ayame felt happy. she knew that haewon meant that jungwon liked her as a friend but a little part in the back of her head hoped that haewon meant it differently.
"so school.." haewon began, "if you want, you guys can stay here and skip or..i can drive you home to get your things"
"uhm.." ayame didn't know what to do but she figured her father was most likely not home but she couldn't bare to have anyone see where she lived and the neighborhood she was in.
ayame was about to speak but a groan was heard next to her. the two girls looked to the left and saw riki slowly waking up
"hey riki" ayame spoke, nudging him lightly "you need to go to school right?"
he nodded, rubbing his eyes, "i have an exam today. i can't miss it"
"so..should i drive you two home to get your things?" haewon spoke
"s-sure.." ayame hesitantly responded
"great" haewon smiled, "i have an 9 am class so i can take you two to school with jungwon alright?"
the two nodded but ayame was nervous since no one has seen her house before
"let me go get ready. jungwon is already downstairs ready and eating breakfast. my mom made extra if you guys want some as well" haewon told the two siblings and they nodded.
haewon then walked out of the room and riki held onto ayame's hands, "is your back okay? does it still hurt?"
"it's okay riki..it feels fine" ayame nodded, a small smile on her face
she was in fact lying. her back was burning the whole night that she basically got no sleep and was constantly turning to find a good position but it was no use and her back always was hurting.
"let's just go downstairs.." ayame spoke and riki took his hands off of hers
"but no one's seen our house before" riki spoke and ayame sighed
"i know but.." she began and looked at him, "i trust jungwon..so it'll be okay"
'hopefully..' she thought

the ride to ayame's house was silent with just ayame telling her what directions to take.
they entered her sketchy neighborhood and haewon nervously chuckled, "are you sure this is where you li-"
"stop it" jungwon smacked her sister's arm, telling her to shush
"yes we live here" ayame then spoke, "it's not the best place but it's what we got"
haewon nodded, feeling bad for judging it in the first place.
"turn right and its the tan-ish apartment complex"
haewon followed what she said and quickly found the house that looked run-downed and just not in good condition
"t-thank you for the ride" ayame spoke and haewon nodded
"get your things and come back in" the two siblings got out of the car, going into the house.
"poor kids..." haewon muttered, looking at her younger brother, "did ayame tell you why she came to our house at 2 in the morning?"
"no she didn't and neither did niki but i told her when she's ready to tell me, then i'll be here for her to tell me" jungwon responded
"that's good. she seems to have a lot on her shoulders" haewon replied and then jungwon looked at her
"was..ayame off yesterday? like how did she act with you?" jungwon then asked being curious
"uhm..she was shy, flinched whenever i touched her and she didn't talk much but that's not here fault of course as it seems like she has her own problems so i didn't question her a lot"
"ahh alright" jungwon nodded
the two siblings then waited for the other two siblings to return so they could go to school.
after a few more minutes, riki and ayame came back and got in the car, "you two ready?"
they just nodded and haewon began driving off.
riki had only studied for about 2 hours instead of his 5 hour study session that he had planned but he was hoping for the best since he needed to do good on the test

the three walked into school in silence before riki parted ways, "i'm going to study a little bit more before my exam. i'll see you guys later"
ayame and jungwon waved bye to riki and he left to go to his class.
"so..." jungwon began, "do you feel more okay..compared to last night?"
"a little better i guess.." she responded, "sorry about last night again"
"don't worry about it. i don't know what's happening in your life but i won't push you to tell me of course so just rant to me when you're ready, alright?"
ayame gulped and nodded, "thank you.."
the two continued to walk and before they could enter the class, ayame held onto jungwon's blazer sleeve
"actually can i-"
"jungwon!" a voice yelled which caused ayame to let go immediately
"nevermind" she quickly spoke before walking into the class, leaving jungwon confused and wanting to know what she was going to say
jungwon shook his head and looked over at the person who called his name
"oh hey hyunjae" jungwon spoke, "what's up?'
"nothing hyunjin wanted to see you though"
"oh alright" jungwon smiled and hyunjae nodded before walking his own way to class
jungwon looked back to see ayame in her seat, getting her stuff out for class.
he figured he would just ask her another time
