▫️Taking Care Of Kash▫️

I follow Kenji across the snowy landscape as Rebel plays in the snow. This cold has seeped through my skin and is actually making my bones ache, not to mention my fingertips are freezing. I rub at my arms as Kenji crouches down when Rebel rushes up to him and he hugs the exuberant baby dino.

"Who's the cutest, ugliest little thing? Oh, who's the cutest, ugliest little thing?" Rebel makes soft cooing sounds and races away as Kenji grabs for him. My frame trembles thanks to the cold and I don't think we can risk staying out here much longer, especially not me. I feel kind of unsteady on my feet.

"Come on, Kenji. We gotta go."

"But look at him, T." He walks over and crouches down next to Rebel, wiping his nose against the sleeve of his shirt. "Those eyes are saying, "Just five more minutes!""

"Kenji," I begin with a slightly amused smile and take a step towards him only to be hit with a dizzying spell and nearly collapse. "Whoa!" He catches me and helps me right myself. "You alright?"

"Yeah. Just a little tired. Which I don't think is a good sign."

"I think you're right. Come on. Let's go, Rebel," he calls to him before wrapping his arm around me and leading the way forward. "You know, you're gonna make a good dad," I tell him as he rubs my arm as Rebel circles us once before racing ahead. "Thanks."

Eventually, we make it to the airlock and I sigh in relief once we get it open, stepping inside. The door slides closed behind us and I press against Kenji, reveling in his warmth. "You're gonna be alright."

"And what about you, your cold?"

"I'm- fine," he says after clearing his throat and sniffles quietly. "Okay. Let's get Rebel back to Mae. She'll know what to do with him." Rebel bellows and then I hear a bang. I turn around and watch as Rebel slams his head into the door. "What's wrong with him?"

I shrug my shoulders and place my hands on his back. "Chill out, little dude. You're being way too loud." Kenji helps me pull him away and we begin leading him in the direction of the airlock that'll take us back to Mae and the others. About ten or so minutes later we finally make it back and find Sammy and Yaz in front of the cave.

Sammy is feeding Angel berries while Yaz watches. "Here you go, Angel," Yasmina says and Rebel rushes forward, clipping her leg, knocking her to the ground. The baby dino lets out a call as we come to a stop in front of them as Rebel races around. "Uh, he's just a little charged up," I explain and Yaz gives me an unamused expression.

"Sure." Rebel's sister bites down on some berries making Sammy smile. "Good girl! Such a little angel."

"Get inside now!" I hear Ben call out as he and Brooklynn race past us, skidding to a halt and leaning against a boulder to catch their breaths. "Kash did it. With the chips. He got her and now he's controlling her." They turn around to face us with sad faces.

"She-she tried to fight it, but she..."

"She couldn't," Ben finishes for her. "He hurt Mae. He hurt Darius." Kenji and I step away from each other as Rebel moves between us and crouch down to comfort him. "He's gonna keep hurting anything that gets in his way. I had to leave one dinosaur behind and I'm never doing it again. Enough is enough. We have to take Kash down."

"Ben's right. We can't keep letting Kash harm others. He needs to be stopped."

"And I have a plan." We follow Ben inside and he begins telling us what his plan entails. "So, after we lure Kash into the forest biomes, we get him to the waterfall cave. Then, that's where you come in Owen and give him a sucker punch that'll knock him out."
