Before we start, not sure if this is helpful to anyone or not, but I did some sketches of what I think Jay's house would look like. (the grey circle on floor one is where the christmas tree goes, i forgot to erase it)

the second one is a quick perspective sketch of what I assume his kitchen would look like. ignore how skinny the fridge and stove are and that the door is a triangle in one corner. I might've miscalculated.

oh, also, if you don't know from my Instagram, this chapter is a whopping 8.7 thousand words. It's beefy. Almost 4x the length of a normal chapter.

Jay's house is amazing. It's cute, kind of big for one guy, on a nice street, in what looks like a nice little neighborhood in northern Regina, it has a little fireplace and a lot of the living area, kitchen, dining room, sitting room, is all one space. He says that often he only really needs the fireplace to keep it warm in the winter.

He told me, about a month ago, when we finalized the plan, that the house was an interesting, once-in-a-lifetime deal for him. He had gotten a bonus from the team for coming up to work such an important job on such short notice and was looking for a place to stay, any place to stay. He lived with his Uncle for the first month or so and then he caught an opening. Someone knew someone who was selling a house, about to sell a house. It was reduced because the roof needed work and because it was not exactly a family house. It was redone all the way for an older man who couldn't climb stairs anymore due to a spine injury. The downstairs bathroom had an awkward addition on it to allow for a full bath on the ground floor, the second sitting area was converted into a master bedroom, and most of the house was unlived in to a point of disrepair. Jorgen leaped on it before it was released to the market, introducing himself and getting it at an even lower price than what the family of the man had planned on because of the impression he made.

It's perfect for him. He doesn't have to climb stairs, a lot of it's handicap accessible, and although Jorgen hates it, truly, when he has to use handicap things, I think he knows this is the best possible situation for himself.
