Lorenzo POV
It was the day of the ball and everyone was stressed. The mafia's men were making sure that there were enough of them to cover all exits and be on guard at all times.

Christmas was... eventful to say the least. Whilst the holiday's festivities took part in the Cortez household, there were high levels of tension between some of the close family, more specifically Antonio, Javier and I.

Gift exchanges occurred, incredible food was made and the night was filled with laughter and chatter.

"You three, get in here." The Don said, calling us into his office.

I walked in, adjusting my tux as Antonio and Javier followed behind me.

"You three better stay civil in public. Today is one of the most important days for our mafia and our image as a mafia needs to remain unchanged from the previous years. I don't want any of you screwing this up for us so you better behave."

"Yes Don." We said in unison.

"Now go, get ready. We leave in five."

We filed out and didn't say a word to one another, keeping our distance as we stood by our cars, waiting for the rest of the mafia to come.

People filed out and got into cars as Don walked out with wife and a couple plus ones for our men went and joined them in the cars.

I took my own car and turned the volume up as music played, lowering it when I realised that it was a Romeo Santos song that had began playing due to shuffle.

I hummed along to the song and drummed my fingers against the wheel as I recited Drake's verse in Odio.

The drive to the hall was long but I checked the directions and I would be at the venue on time.

After the song had ended, another Romeo Santos song began to play.

It was Eres Mía.

You know your heart is mine, and you'll love me... forever." She sang as the song played in the car.

I mumbled the words too, as if it was our connection. As the song ended, I placed a kiss on the back of her hand. I smiled at her then stopped the car, knowing that we were back at the house.

I thought back to that day in my car where we began listening to this song.

"Incoming call from 'Javier'. Answer it?"
Said my Siri, interrupting the song.

"Yes."

"Lorenzo."

"What do you want, Javier?" I answered, keeping my eyes on the road.

"I don't want us to fight."

"Oh really? Maybe you shouldn't have brought up my girlfriend that passed away. You knew how much she meant to me and it was a dick move."

"I know, I know. I shouldn't have let my anger get the better of me."

"Yet I still haven't heard you apologise. I have no reason to be angry and Antonio but because of you, I've included him in this argument."

"Look, you have to understand that I'm angry too. You punched me in the face!"

"And you brought up my dead girlfriend, knowing it was a dick move." I stated.
