27-An "Eve"il Night

Three Weeks Later...

During those three weeks, the team mainly stayed at the hospital while Axel had his father deal with any business-related work. Devine stayed at her grandparent's house as they all agreed she'd be much safer there. Lilith was already walking again During the second week but Cedric made sure she stayed an extra week for medical evaluation and to check up on her wounds to make sure they were healing just right.

"Ready to go home, Lilith?" Cedric asked

"Yes, kinda tired of sleeping on this uncomfortable bed," Lilith said sitting

Cedric wheeled the wheelchair from the corner of the hospital room to Lilith's bed.

"Come on let's go home"

"Cedric I can walk" Lilith chuckled

"It might be too far," Cedric said shrugging

"Cedric, don't worry I'll be fine"

Lilith stood up and moved the wheelchair out of the way.

"See I'm fine Cedric. Come on let's go" Lilith winked

They both left and got into the car which was ordered by Axel to pick them up

"Hello Oliver" Lilith said

"Great to see you feeling better Lilith"

"Thank you, Oliver," Lilith said

"Where are we off to today?"

"The Santiago's," Cedric said

The car engine started and set off into the streets of New York. Cedric and Lilith watched the beautifully decorated buildings and houses as the car drove by.

"I'm so glad I didn't miss out on this" Lilith said

"I'm glad too," Cedric said with a soft smile

Thirty minutes later...

The car drove into the gates of Manuel and Mara Santiago's house.

"Thank you, Oliver, Merry Christmas Eve," Lilith said

"Here you go Oliver, it's a present from all of us" Cedric smiled as he handed Oliver a heavily wrapped gift that he kept hidden in his pocket.

"Oh wow Thank you!" Oliver said

Cedric shut the car door and joined Lilith who waited for him by the front door.

Lilith knocked on the front door and Mara answered.

"Finally you're both here!" Mara said

"Just in time for Christmas Eve Dinner!" Manuel yelled out from inside

Mara allowed them in and locked the front door. Everyone gathered around the black and gold decorated table. There was a huge decorated tree surrounded by presents in the living room as well.

Lilith and Cedric joined the rest at the table and took a seat next to one another.

"It's a great honour to all be here. Especially Lilith who's now well. Although I never doubted you. I knew you were gonna survive" Manuel winked

Everyone at the table chuckled and laugh.

"Tonight we'll be celebrating Christmas"

"How come?" Bridget asked

"Well I forgot to tell you but the annual masquerade ball is tomorrow," Mara said

"What?!" Axel yelled

"Axel I know you never liked going but we have to. You're the leader now it'll be disrespectful if you don't show up" Manuel said

"Fine I'll go," Axel said

"We'll all go as well" Lilith added

"What? No, you need rest" Cedric said

"Cedric! I'm fine" Lilith said

"Lilith is very strong Cedric don't worry" Manuel added

"Ahem, I've ordered dresses and many masks for tomorrow. They'll arrive in the morning." Mara added

"When it comes to shopping you sure are an expert," Manuel said chuckling

"What about Devine? Where will she stay?" Annika asked

"She's coming with us," Axel said

"Axel! Are you sure?" Annika asked

"She'll play a very important role in the mafia when she's older so yes she's coming. I'll watch her very closely besides other children will be there as well." Axel said taking a forkful of food into his mouth

"Yes, we'll all have our weapons," Manuel said

"I thought weapons weren't allowed," Liam said

"No one follows the rules, Liam," Bridget said chuckling

"Exactly good point! Our Mafia colour will be black and gold. Women in black or gold dresses and men in black suits and gold ties or gold suits and black ties. The masks as well will be very well detailed of black and gold" Manuel added

"Dad we wear the same colour every year," Axel said laughing

Manuel rolled his eyes and chuckled as well

The family dinner was full of laughter as they discussed the details of the masquerade ball. Alora listened closely and laughed along as well but after the attack at the club. She couldn't help but overthink how things will go especially knowing Devine will be coming as well. Alora promised herself she'd protect Devine even if that means putting her life on the line.

Meanwhile...Somewhere in NYC

"Merry Christmas Eve Sir" Lucy said

"Shut the f*ck up Lucy!" The Unknown Voice yelled

Nash chuckled

"Told you to keep quiet"

"Now tomorrow night is the Masquerade Ball and you know what that means," The Unknown Voice said

"The Santiagos will be there," Nash said chuckling

"How will I even sneak in?" Lucy asked

"You'll pretend to be a part of my team. I've already added you to the list. As for me, I'm good to go" Nash said smiling

"You better do it correctly this time!" The Unknown Voice shouted

"Oh, it'll be successful. I know alot of people that want to see Santiago's fall! Tomorrow will be the biggest regret of your life, Axel!"
