Codys P.O.V

I sat on the couch all alone. The house was quiet...too quiet. My head was spinning and I didn't know why. I looked down at the coffee table that had bottles of alcohol scattered across it. I guess I was drunk though I don't remember getting that way.

There was suddenly a knock on the door. The knock echoed loudly through my mind. So loud that if I didn't answer the door soon I would go crazy.

I ran to the door and opened it. I saw nothing. I closed the door slowly...stupid kids and their pranks. I sat back on the couch and felt something breathing on my neck.

Shayla.

"Baby what are you doing?" I asked turning around. There was nothing there. A shiver went down my spine. "Shayla!?" I yelled wondering where her and Bethany were. "Babe!?" I heard footsteps behind me and turned to see someone standing in all black.

"Shayla?" I said then started chuckling. "Baby why are you-" I paused when the person in all black took there hood off. There was nothing there.

I looked all around me....but all I could see was nothing. I began to scream. With every scream smoke escaped from my mouth and the nothing around me began to go up in flames. "Help!" I screamed. "Help!"

"Baby calm down" I heard Shayla say as my eyes shot open. "Shhhh" she whispered as she wiped the tears from my face. I felt her lightly kiss my cheek. I held her tightly. I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest. "We've gotta get these night terrors checked out babe" she said as she rocked me from side to side. "Okay" I said quietly still holding onto her tightly.

"Alright Cody tell me about these dreams" The man asked me. "They aren't dreams they're night terrors" I said back. He lifted his eyebrows. "Fine. Night terrors" "well..." I began "I don't know." The man sighed then sat up in his chair.

"Let's start with the basics...where do most of your.... night terrors....take place?" He asked. "At home" I answered. "Mhmm and who are usually in these....night terrors" "well most of them have something to do with my wife" the man chuckled "the married life. Horrifying isn't it?" I chuckled a bit.

"Your most reason night terror...what happened in it?" "Well...i was drunk I believe." "You believe?" He asked. "Well my head was spinning and the table in front of me had many empty bottles of alcohol on it." I responded. "Alright carry on" "someone knocked loudly on the door but when I opened it no one was there" "so nothing came in the house?" He asked. "Well I think something did" I answered. "Why?"

"Well later in the dream...I felt something breathe on my neck. I thought it was my wife but when I turned around it was nothing. Then later I heard footsteps... I saw a thing in all black. I thought it was my wife playing a prank on me but when it took its hood off there was nothing there. I think I let that thing in." He nodded.

"Then everything was just...dark...like nothing. I screamed for help because it seemed so real. Every time I screamed smoke came out of my mouth and eventually the darkness around me just lit up in flames."

We both sat quietly for a moment then he began speaking. "You're afraid of something" he started. "Something that you think isn't a big deal..or let me rephrase that something that you want to think isn't a big deal...something that you want to think is nothing." I paused waiting for him to continue. "Something that I think could potentially harm your wife."
