"So, I guess it's just you and me for ten minutes huh?" Karina twirls around, she's tipsy as hell but she wouldn't admit that

Winter glanced at her, she took something out of her pocket and put it in between her lips.

"Oh you started smoking too?" Karina sat beside her and there goes that alluring scent again that Winter finds sexually attractive for some reason

"You want some?" Winter incite her

"Gladly." Karina took one from her and leaned closer to lit it up by Winter's litted cigarette

"You do know I have a lighter right?" Winter scoffs

"I like this better. As far as I know you don't smoke, and you hate it." Karina replied as she inhaled the cigarette that's now lit up by the help of connecting it on Winter's tip. The latter didn't reply with that remark

A defeaning silence stretched in the air. They were stuck in the attic of Giselle's big mansion. 7 minutes in heaven but because their friends are a bunch of assholes and they know these two had a past they made it 10 minutes instead

Winter looked out the window just to gaze in the nightsky. It was beautiful and it made her think of 'that' night in their apartment where they would just stare outside the window after their love making

"Long hair looks good on you," Karina complimented

"How were you?" Winter spoke, "The past five years."

Her gaze went back to Karina when she didn't answer her question.

Their eyes met, and the latter can only wish they stay like that forever. Locking eyes, just the two of them in a peaceful night.

"It was hell." Karina whispered, voice almost breaking. She looked away as she puff the cigarette beside her

"Why?"

Karina scoffed, "You know damn well why."

Winter pursed her lips, she wanted to say something but her body won't let her.

"I was going through hell and your solution was to leave." Karina's lips quivered. She reminisces all those times where it pained her to wake up knowing Winter is no longer hers.

"Can you blame me?" Winter replied nonchalantly. Her once calm eyes filled with anger.

"Don't you look at me like that." Karina shut her eyes tightly, she flicked the cigarette somewhere as she held her head while pacing back and forth

"Those same fucking eyes-" She turned around, having no courage to continue what she was about to say

"What did you expect?" Winter asked

What did Karina expect? Certainly not this. Certainly not for Winter to stop loving her so soon.

"I used to dream of the day I would meet the one, and I honestly thought it was you. Until now I still think it's you." Karina bit her lower lip

Silenced filled the room. Feeling the chill of the cool roof underneath them on the warm summer night.

"I was never the one for you." Winter says to her. She swallows thickly as if the words she spit out were like sandpapers grating her tounge

Karina knew she was lying, but that didn't make it hurt any less, Winter was her bestfriend and even if she tried with all her heart, she could never fully hate her

"I-I tried so hard to get better, to get over this, to forget it all and move on and I thought I can finally say I'm getting better but right now I couldn't feel any worse." Tears fell on her cheeks, she wiped them as fast as she can as she continued
