Caitlin froze. What had Barry just said?

"Did you hear me?"

Caitlin shook her head 

"Barry, your not thinking straight. Your all dozed up from your medicine. You don't know what you are saying"

"I do"

"No you don't. Because you wouldn't be here in the middle of the night, if you were alright. You would be at home resting"

"Well I couldn't exactly come here, at this time, and come through the normal way. I don't think your parents would like that very much"

"So you just decided to come in through the window? At this time? Couldn't it have waited until morning?"

"No. I just realised how much I love you, and it couldn't wait any longer"

"There you go again. You don't know what you are saying. You'll regret this in the morning"

Caitlin turned to go

"We have to get you out of here, before anyone sees you"

Barry grabbed Caitlins hand and crushed his lips to her

"Believe me know?"

Caitlin was about to answer, when there was a knock on the door

"Caitlin"

Caitlin grabbed Barry

"It's my aunty. Quick Barry hide"

"Where?"

"Bathroom"

Caitlin took a deep breath and opened the door

"Are you okay Caitlin? I heard you scream"

"Scream? Oh that, I had a bad dream"

"A bad dream? You used to have them all the time when you were a little girl. Then you used to come into my room and sleep with me. Come on, today come into my room and sleep"

"No. No. No. Don't worry about me. I'm ok. I'll sleep"

"You might be able to sleep, but I won't be able to. Who knows when you'll scream again? Okay fine, you don't want to come there, I'll come and stay here with you"

Caitlin saw the bathroom door was about to open 

"No"

"What happened?"

"Nothing"

"Come on then, let's sleep"

Caitlin walked to the bathroom as her auntie turned off the light and lay down 

"Okay. She's asleep. Now please get out of here"

Barry fell to the floor and crawled away as Caitlins auntie awoke 

"What are you doing still up? Come, and go to sleep"

Caitlin looked at her auntie and Barry. What was she going to do?

"Oh auntie, your so good. You look after me so well. I'm sorry that I tire you out. I love you" she said, hugging her to keep her distracted whilst Barry escaped

"Tomorrow. 3pm. By the river"

"Okay, that's fine" she replied while still keeping her auntie distracted 

Caitlins eyes shot open. No, she couldn't stop here, she needed to know the rest. She now knew how the guy had fallen for her, but she needed to know what happened next. The most important part. Whatever had happened, must have happened next. But why had her eyes opened here? She needed to know what had happened. She needed to get back there

Caitlin was trying everything, but she couldn't sleep. She was frustrated because she felt so close. Whatever had happened, it was so close. She couldn't lose this opportunity. This was a big thing, and it effected her life massively. Maybe after this, either she would know the truth and why it was hidden from her, or she would know nothing and they would carry on like nothing had happened. She screamed, she needed to know everything. She paced the floor, trying to get tired enough, but nothing was happening. She was desperately trying to figure out what to do, but nothing was coming to her. Finally, she was desperate, she ran out and got some gas and knocked herself out. She knew it was a risky move, but she had no choice. No one was helping her, and she had to know what had happened 

Caitlin was sitting by the river, waiting for Barry. It had been a while, and there was no sign. She took one last look around and smiled. There was Barry, on the other side of the river. He smiled at her, and showed her a rose that he had got for her. Barry started towards her, crossing the stones, to get across the river. He was almost there, when his foot slipped on a stone 

"Barry"

Barry got up and realised the rose was floating away. He threw himself into the river, after it

"Barry, leave it. Your going to get hurt"

Barry ignored her, and kept chasing it. Caitlin ran to one side, watching Barry. Suddenly Barry stood up, and walked towards her. He sheepishly showed her the flower. All the petals had fallen off, and it was just the bare roots. Caitlin walked up to Barry, and kissed the roots

"I love it. Thank you"

"How can you?"

"It's because it's from you. It's perfect"

"Your a strange girl"

Caitlin and Barry walked along the river, hand in hand 

"Caitlin, I was so horrible to you. Yet, you still fell for me. No matter how bad I was to you, you didn't give up"

"Nope. When you love someone, you put up with their behaviour. Even if you didn't love me, I would have been glad to have you as a friend, regardless"

"Okay, I'm telling you the truth now. I felt attracted to you since day one. That's why I couldn't concentrate on the arm wrestling when you were touching me"

"So what was all this?"

"Me testing you"

Caitlin pushed Barry away

"Bad joke"

Barry walked up to Caitlin 

"Okay, I'm sorry. Don't be angry"

Barry took Caitlins hand and led her away 

"Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise"
