R'lyeh was the land of the sea.

The entire city gave a sense of the unclean, evoking a strong sense of iniquity and disgust, but at the same time it was impossible to deny its grandeur, its majesty, and its high artistic achievements.

Indeed, this was not just a mere city. It was massive in size, with three levels of structures rising up from its foundation, and there was a clear division of labor among its inhabitants. It could be called a kingdom unto itself.

At the topmost level of the city, a palace stood at the highest point, visible from everywhere. It rose up from the center of the city like the moon surrounded by the stars, an undeniable symbol of its status.

The palace was built from countless blocks of dark green stone, and mysterious brilliant gold paint outlined the grooves carved into its walls. At night or in times of battle, these magic patterns would burst into light and shine brightly.

The master of R'lyeh was the only person allowed to set foot in the highest level of the palace. Even the god Dagon wasn't permitted entry.

The palace was dozens of meters high, and the inner dome was inlaid with an intricate pattern of brilliant green gems. In the darkness of the palace's upper reaches, they emitted a ghostly glow.

The huge Roman columns that supported the hall were carved with exquisite reliefs. Ordinary people couldn't look at them casually or they would suffer intense mental damage. Only investigators who'd studied Cthulhu mythology and the occult might be able to grasp something of their meaning, a record of the glorious achievements of R'lyeh's unnamable king.

Beneath the dome of the palace, the entire hall was filled with the deep and bottomless sea. The water was transparent and green, and filled the concave surface of the hall.

Indeed, aside from the central passage, every other place within the palace was filled with sea water, and its depths weren't visible at a glance, but it produced a strange, incomparable fragrance, as if something inexpressible had been mixed into the air. It was cold and aromatic, noble and rich, and utterly fascinated the mind.

At the far end of the central passage, two thrones carved of emerald jade and white bone rested on a stone plinth. Traces of water were visible on the cold white jade steps.

On one of the thrones sat a man with dark wheat skin. His brow was cold and majestic. His head rested on his hand and his eyes were closed as if in meditation.

At that moment, the sound of splashing water suddenly rang out.

Ripples appeared on the surface of the pool in the main hall, rings expanding like a flower pattern until they reached the furthest edges of the water, followed by a ring of waves.

Immediately after, a pale hand emerged from beneath the surface of the water. The fingertips were soaking wet.

A mass of dark green hair floated up. It created a bizarre image, as if thousands of strands of algae were dancing wildly.

Then the cold sea water was swept away, and a young man emerged from the water. His dark golden eyes were long and narrow, and the corners of his eyes were tinged with a strange, demonic green color, giving rise to a bewitching sense of beauty.

A rain of water droplets fell from his long hair, rolled down the center of his forehead to the bridge of his nose, then to the line of his lower jaw, hanging like crystalline beads on his sharp chin, then falling to his shoulders.
