"CARINA ELAYNE TOUSSAINT"

We were still sitting in the library.

I had planned on working with Pandora but, Lily invited one of her Ravenclaw friends who apparently has quite a big crush on my new partner.

Pandora seemed to have the same attraction towards the older boy. They really hit it off well which meant I was working with Remus as usual.

Maria, as promised, had also invited Evan.

They had somehow managed to become pretty well acquainted with each other in the short span of time since being paired up. They were doing a lot of whispering and obnoxious giggling which, it seems, was only bothering me in particular.

I didn't mind being left with Remus, I loved working with him. Except for today when, for some odd reason, he seemed quite a bit distracted.

He kept looking off somewhere into the distance every now and then, he was rather spacey.

"Hey Rem, what's that one bloke's name, the one who created that law for making antidotes?" I asked him, flipping through my potions textbook.

Remus didn't respond which caused me to look up at him.

He was zoned out again, looking off somewhere past me with his brows furrowed.

I turned around and looked in the direction where he seemed to be staring, being confused when I saw nothing there. I turned back around to him, lifting my head slightly to be directly in his line of vision.

"Remus?" I asked again.

He blinked a few times before answering, "sorry, what?"

"Are you...alright? You seem a bit distant today." I questioned. He usually got like this before the full moon but that wasn't for another 3 weeks.

"Did you ever get your book back?" he asked me, ignoring my previous statement.

"Um, no...why?" I queried, confused by the random mention of my still missing book.

"There's a book that's laying on one of the tables back that way." Remus replied, pointing in the direction behind me.

I turned around and squinted my eyes at one of the tables, seeing the faintest outline of a book laying on one of them. I turned back around towards Remus, eyeing him suspiciously.

"Do you know something Remus?" I asked him.

"No. I was just wondering." he replied, switching his gaze down to the textbook in front of him.
