Regulus sat in his room fidgeting nervously. He could hear his mother and father screaming at Sirius from downstairs. He knew what Sirius had to do but it scared him. It scared him that his brother was being forced into a life he didn't want. It scared him that this would be him next year. But most of all, it scared him that it was Sirius. The same Sirius who wouldn't sacrifice his beliefs or backdown from anything, and that scared him the most.

An hour later the screaming came to a pause, Regulus breathed a breath of relief but right then Sirius popped his head in.

"MERLIN! You scared me," He said and Sirius chuckled

"I'm running away Reg," He breathed out

"Wha-"

"But before you say anything it isn't your fault, I just can't do it. I can't be a death eater no matter how bad they want me to be,"

"I know," Regulus choked out quietly after a moment of silence

"So?"

"So."

"Will you come?"

"Where Sirius, do you even have a plan?"

"Yeah I'll go to the Potters, your friends with James sister right? What's her name?"

"Isabella," Regulus muttered

"YES that's it, so will you come?"

"I- I can't,"

"Why?"

"Because do you even realize how dangerous this is? It's not just mother and father anymore, it's the dark lord Sirius and going to the Potters will put them in danger. If you actually cared you wouldn't do that to them," Regulus blurted and Sirius stiffened up.

"Fine, have it your way," and he walked out. Regulus collapsed onto the bed in tears because he knew what would happen next, and Sirius did too but neither of them fully processed it until it was too late.

Regulus Black was going to become a death eater and Sirius Black was at fault.

That night his mother had been too hysterical to do anything while his father had angrily punched holes in the wall. Luckily for Regulus the next morning his father arranged for him to go back to Hogwarts and wearing nothing but a t-shirt and sweat pants he stepped into the floo.
