If there's anything the world had to know, it would be about one person.

Rimuru Tempest, the man who couldn't find a girlfriend for the life of him. And the man in which no women went up to.

That was until you came along, you changed his broken heart and life, mending it into a beautiful heartfelt song.

Or,

That's what you liked to imagine.

Your own life was just as monotone as his when Rimuru wasn't around.

You had been his co worker for a very, very long time. Seeing as he was your type, you soon developed feelings in the same workspace with the same hours, and some of the same interests.

Still, he hadn't looked at you in the way that you looked at him, his eyes were washed over with disinterest it had seemed.

Though you managed to get along with him fine whenever he talked about having a women.

I'm right here.

You opened your mouth and quickly shoved some food inside, refusing to break the bond you had built.

"Are you alright Y/n?" Rimuru asked, mid into the conversation when he heard a squeak come from you.

You slightly choked on the price of food that was running down your throat. "G-good, I'm fine. The food just, I ate it wrong." You smiled, trying not to be too awkward.

Rimurus mouth made an 'o' shape in understanding. "As long as your good then." Rimuru sighed as his sentence trailed off into the misty wind.

You knew what the sigh meant, dreading it every time. "Stop thinking about it already." You tried to knock some sense into him, hiding your feelings.

It made you smile knowing he at least acknowledged you, and chose to talk with you as a close ally.

A close friend, merely.

"I know, it's just tough. And that slime time too." Rimuru shivered reminiscing about that very hard time.

You couldn't help but laugh at him.

You couldn't help but keep falling for him, knowing you were just drowning yourself in a fantasy life.

Knowing you would rather stay in a coma of your dream world.

"That time was pretty fun, it was a change of pace and scenery." And besides, we were with each other every hour of the day.

You smiled, seeing the coffee swirl.

"You're insane!" Rimuru began to laugh, a huge smile crossing his face.

I love that smile.

"Says the slime boy." You kicked his leg.

"Y/n!" He yelled bantering as he kicked you back.

"Hey Y/n!" Rimuru came up to you, shift completed.

You turned to look at him running on your left. "Oh, Rimuru what's wrong?" Usually he never had been hyper, in fact he was scaring you.

He came up and stopped himself in time before crashing into you. Rimuru paced his breathing with his hands a top of his knees.

"Wait, a second." He held his pointer finger up, finally getting a hold of himself.

Rimuru got up to his normal height, causing you to tilt your head in confusion. "Are you alright?" You held your hand reaching for his forehead.

His ears and cheeks were pink, you wondered if he had gotten a fever.

Before you could actually reach his forehead he pulled back.

As expected.

"I'm more than alright, it's just, I'm kind of excited in a way. Sharing this news with you." Rimuru chuckled nervously rubbing the back of his neck.

He also took notice of his surroundings.

"Oh, then what is it that got you so hyper active? I'm getting really scared here." You pulled a gracious amount away from him, worried he would push you away more if you hadn't done so.

Rimuru looked around more seeing as the place was too public. "Are you free later actually? I wanna tell you at least where we can sit and talk more." Rimuru went closer and grabbed your hand.

A date?

No.

"O-okay."

That place happened to be his living space, you knew it all too well the moment he even asked to talk privately.

"So what's the news?" You asked sitting across from your best friend.

Across from the person that unconditionally accidentally stole your heart.

"Well I managed to get a girl's attention and she asked for my number today." Rimuru had this excitement on his face.

"A girl? Am I hearing things?" You played it off with a smile. "Yes a girl! How lonely do you think I am?" Rimuru asked.

If only you knew. Rimuru thought looking at your face,

the face in which he thought was so beautiful he couldn't get enough of it. He used every excuse in his power to look at it.

In fact, it was horrible, turning into a slime that is. But getting to be with you for the entire journey, oh it was heaven.

This is the moment to finally tell her. Rimuru listened as you spoke, taking in the look and emotion in your eyes.

They almost appeared, sad.

But why?

"Y/n." Rimuru let a quiet voice out, stopping you from finishing your rant.

"Oh sorry, what is it?" You plastered a smile upon your face.

Rimuru felt himself get nervous. "The girl that I like.." he trailed away.

"Can you tell me another day? I just remembered I had plans." You spoke up quickly before he could say anything else.

Rimuru went alert. Could she be thinking that-? "Wait Y/n it's quick listen-" "N-no I'm alright for today, I really need to get going." You nervously laughed, quickly gathering your few things.

"Wait!" Rimuru raised his voice and grabbed a hold of your wrist.

He didn't mean to pull hard, but he did. Causing you to stumble back as you turned around, Rimuru leaned down.

His lips landing on yours.

Your eyes went wide, seeing his begging eyes shut closed. You slowly found yourself not resisting and instead, kissing back.

His arms wrapped your waist, your arms wrapped his neck. "The girl I love is you, it's always been Y/n." Rimuru whispered away from your lips before pulling you in again.

You had both misunderstood at first, but now it felt right.
