It was the next day and I was the first one to wake up. I looked at the clock "5:30" I said to myself as I lie back down and stretched the tiredness away and rubbed my eyes then went to get ready for the day

After I was finished I woke everybody up because emma was still asleep

"GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!" I shouted as I pulled the curtains to let the morning sun in and saw everybody was waking up except emma. Last night really took a toll on the poor girl. I waited for 5mins for all of the other kids to leave the room

I went towards her and shake her up gently "Emma its time to wake up" I said as she started to wake up then suddenly shot up, looking around frantically. I hold cupped her face "Hey, Hey, Hey emma its okay its okay, I'm here, I'm here." I said

"Was it all a dream... Conny is with her new family and there arent any demons? This isnt a farm? That wasnt mama?" Emma asked looking at me to confirm that all of it was a dream

I sighed and hugged her "No... Its all real." I whispered in her ear

I pulled away from the hug and said "Go and get ready, everybody maybe at the cafeteria waiting for us and dont forget to smile, mama doesnt know that we went to the gate last night."

She nodded and went to do her business and I went to help prepare for breakfast 

I smiled and saw the kids helping out saying good morning to them as I pass them by

"Good morning harley" norman said with a smile and ray saying it after him with the usual boredom look on his face

I went to help prepare the table and not long after we started to eat

After we take our daily test me, emma and norman were walking away from the other kids off towards the edge of the forest

"Did you both sleep at all last night?" norman asked

"Yeah, but I woke up later than usually so harley woke me up." emma said

"I woke up earlier than usual." I said

Emma then starts talking about the house being a cage so I tuned them out until norman talks about the tests

"But what about the tests?" norman asked

"Why? Its not like getting good scores would make our meat... taste any better?" emma said

"I did some thinking last night." I joined in on their conversation

Both of them looked at me giving me the go sign to continue

"Were cattle plain and simple right? And as cattle the farmer must give it the proper nutrients and what not to make the cattle top quality right? Last night the demon said "another 6 year old, weve been shipping average quality as of lately" so its safe to assume that 6 years old is the average quality and we get shipped no matter what when we hit the age of 12-"

"So what your saying is that 6 years old is the average and 12 years old are premium." emma said

"Yes so I concluded that our brains is the most delicious part." I said

Then both of them looked at me in shock

"Think about it our brains is developed when were 6 and fully developed when were 12. The test is to help develop our brains. Why we dont see any demons past the gate is because it might terrify us and do some harm to our growth. The house is to give us a good environment to grow aswell." I said

Both of them silence because of the revelation

"We need to determinse what we know.So its safe to assume that the brain is the most important part to the demons. So before conny, hao left. Before hao, cedi left. Based on the dates that those three were taken, we can assume the next shipment will be in two months at the earliest. Thats the amount of time we have to find a way for all of us to escape this place." norman said and continued
