Deiji grunts as she takes another step, her spine has been killing her all along begging for a little rest. "A little more please," she huffs as she leans against a tree, breathing heavily. She closes her eyes and rests for a moment. A small smile appears on her face when she feels the baby kicking. "Mom is going to find us home. Very soon."
She snaps her eyes open when a twig snaps. Anxiety rushes in as she stays frozen. She holds her breath and darts her eyes sideways. She darts them to the other side and exhales slowly. She breathes a sigh of relief when she sees a rabbit hop from behind the bush. She takes her knife out and throws at it. She doesn't have to worry about lunch today.
She skips the plan of taking a break after lunch and keeps on moving. She takes out the map as she nears the place circled with a red pen on her map. She hopes that there are still people out there. If she can't find them here, she will have to wait another twenty miles to find a base camp. Her heart sighs with content and relief when she spots a fence far away. Her pace quickens towards it.
"Ugh," there is a sharp pain, like a pin prick on her thigh. She looks down and pulls out a small needle. She falls on her knees feeling dizzy. The needle falls from her hand as she falls on the ground.
