Y/N felt themselves being pulled up as their limbs dangled in the air.

The animatronic laughed right behind your ears as the two of you were being pulled high up in the ceiling.

"H-hey! You know I'm-not okay with heights!" You looked at Moondrop in the corner of your eye.

"Mmmm. Heights. Fear. A trivial concept. One will never grow until one conquers such an insolent idea."

"It's not an idea-it's real! Please-just put me somewhere stable-"

The animatronic scanned your features.

"I don't see why we shouldn't try and eradicate it~"

At that moment you felt the world dragging you down.

You didn't have time to scream.

You just closed your eyes.

And braced for impact.

Yet, it felt like forever.

Nothing else was happening.

But the feeling of wind gushing past you.

Then you felt something wrap around you tightly.

"Though, I don't plan to kill you. I'm not-THAT-heartless." Moon laughed it off as he reeled you back up.

The animatronic placed you on the balcony, observing your petrified state.

He sat there, processing your reaction.

You were shaking, you didn't look at him. Only looking down as the thought of you on an elevated platform plagued you.

It may be bolted in place, but anything can happen.

Fear of falling to death is all that clouded your mind.

Fall.

That day, when your brother pushed you off the board. Into the sea.

It was deep.

Dark.

Suffocating.

Breathe, you must breathe.

Inhale.

Exhale.

"Y/n. I... didn't overdo it. Did I..?" Moondrop's tone was that of worry.

"No. I just got reminded of... nevermind." Y/N shook their head as they blocked their darkest thoughts from resurging.

"If there's anything that troubles you. Do tell me. I-I make for a great listener." The night attendant scooted over in front of the child.

He wished to undo what had been done. But, what's done is done.

Y/N staggered off at Moondrop's proximity. Almost tumbling off to the pit below, yet luckily being caught right away by him.

The dark jester held you tight, he learned that facing your fears may not be as direct as it was stated to be.

You shivered and he felt that.

It hurt him.

It hurt Sun.

"Starlight?" Moon murmured above you.

You felt hot tears threatening to be cried out.

But it's embarrassing, something only babies should do.

You're not a baby anymore.

You have to stay brave, stay strong, show no weakness.

Just as mother taught you.

"It's alright." Moondrop stroked your hair.

Yet, you're showing vulnerability.

"I'm here." Rubbing circles at your back to comfort.

In front of him.

"Let it all out."

... and you did.

You sniffled as you buried your head in shame.

Moondrop hummed, scooping you in his arms. Cradling you as he walked into his room.

Y/N peeked at their surroundings, your wails halted at the state of the room you were in.

"Apologies for the mess. I'm... not usually like this." Moon guffawed it off.

Deep inside, you felt that you knew otherwise.

You've seen him angry, this was no doubt a byproduct of it.

Your caretaker placed you down on a cushion lying on the floor.

"Can you speak?" He sat criss-cross before the child. Giving off a calm demeanor.

Y/N only croaked out in response, which made them sulk even more.

Why can't you speak up?

Why?

"Ah-don't be sad. You need not to cry about your voice-"
