Y/N woke up in the morning and walked to the kitchen. There was a note on the fridge from her aunt. It said: "I went to work early, my boss needed me. Theres cereal in the cabinets if you want them. Hope to see you too! Love, Rosa."

Y/N smiled as she read the note and decided to just eat a granola bar for breakfast. Once she was done she left the apartment making sure to lock the door. Y/N spotted Miguel leaving his apartment so Y/N went up to him. "Hey Diaz" she smiled

"Oh, hey Y/N" he smiled back

"Where you headed to?"

"I was going to meet up with some friends, want to come?"

"No thanks, I need to go shopping for home stuff. Can I have one of your socials? So we can talk more. I don't really live near here." Y/N shrugged

"Sure!" Miguel smiled. Y/N unlocked her phone and went to Snapchat before handing her phone over to Miguel. He searched up his user and added it before heading the phone back over to Y/N

"Thanks," she smiled "see you later Diaz" she departed hopping on her board leaving. Y/N arrived at her house and walked in to her parents already there. "Hey baby, how was tia rosas house?"

"It was good" Y/N smiled "I missed her cooking"

"Yea me too" her mom smiled. While Y/N was away this morning her parents managed to get a set for the kitchen so everyone was putting away things as well as stocking the cabinets and fridge. "I heard about ice skating being able to compete in the valley. Are you going to join?"

"Maybe" Y/N shrugged

"Do you wanna go check it out? Me and Jimmy will buy the furniture, you can just send me what you like from ikea and I'll look for it."

"Actually... yea, I would like that" Y/N smiled. She went upstairs and opened one of the boxes she had. In there was a bunch of things she had from her old hobbies and sports she tried. She grabbed her skates and skate covers and placed them in a backpack as well as her wallet, a lock, and a hand towel.

"Want me to drop you off?"

"No thanks mom, I'll skate there" Y/N kissed her moms cheek and grabbed her board. "I'll send you what I want in a bit, bye" Y/N goes out the front door and pulls out her phone. At this point it's been around an hour since she last saw Miguel. She sends him a message.

Miguel:

Y/N:
Hey Díaz
I'm going to Grand Rink to ice skate
If you want to come go ahead and bring your friends if your still with them!

Miguel:
Yea ofc!
Well be there in 20

Y/N:
Ok! See you there :)

Y/N puts her phone in her pocket and skated there. Y/N started ice skating a few months after they moved to Chicago since they moved during the winter. She was able to pick up on it fast and it seemed to be one of the only things she really stuck with. Y/N wanted to join since her distant father liked hockey but like always, he never cared or payed attention to her. Even though she tried different sports, ice skating seemed to just stick with her.

Y/N got to the ice rink and went to the front desk. She asked if they have locker rentals which they did so Y/N signed up for a membership which allowed her to use a locker for free, discounts on skating rentals for up to 5 people, award points, and discounts for tickets to see any show or sport they perform in the rink. Y/N went to the locker room and changed her shoes into the skates with the cover on. She places her and wallet and shoes in the locker but decided to take the bag and hand towel to the rink. She walked to a bench where she places the bag and checked her phone.

Miguel:

I'm here with a few friends!
We're out front rn

Y/N smiled and walked to the desk where she saw Miguel with 4 other people. Y/N told the clerk about her membership perk and the group payed for the rentals (half off of course) everyone had the skate on the sat at the bench Y/N stuff is at taking off the plastic protection on the bottom of the skates

"So Y/N this is Aisha" Miguel said pointing to a girl. "Hawk, Chris, and Tory" he finished pointing to each person the named belong to

"Nice to meet you guys. I'm Y/N" Y/N smiled. She looked at hawk an examined him for a bit.

"Take a picture hot stuff it will last longer" hawk smirk noticing Y/N's stare

"Oh- sorry. It's just- you look familiar" Y/N said. She decided to let it go and got on the Ice. Everyone else did too but most of them couldnt keep their balance.

"Woah guys, focus on your balance before you try to do anything crazy" Y/N chuckled noticing the group.

"Pshh this is easy" Miguel said gliding on the ice

"Oh yea? Wanna race then" Y/N smirked placing her hands on her hips.

"Bet" Miguel said giving the same energy back "loser buys everyone lunch"

"Oh your on!" Y/N and Miguel were going to start where a hand railing starts. Aisha was the referee and everyone else was watching.

"Ready... set... go!" Aisha exclaimed throwing her hands up. Almost instantly Y/N bolted through the rink. she was only half way and Miguel was a few feet behind. Y/N turned around still skating "want me to slow down Diaz?" She teased. "No fair you had a head start!" He joked. "Alright I'll let you catch up" Y/N smirked slowing down still going backwards. Once Miguel was a few inches away Y/N decided to play him "that's enough!" Y/N exclaimed pushing her skate causing some ice to shave off and get on Miguel. Y/N shortly made it back to the start spinning as she finished. "Show off" Miguel said out of breathe.

Y/N turned back to everyone else to see that Tory hasn't stepped in the rink. "Hey Tory, is everything alright?" Y/N asked skating towards her.

"Yea it's just- I'm not sure if I know how to skate" Tory admitted

"Well, do you know how to roller skate?"

"Yea... I work at a roller rink."

"Well then this is gonna be easy." Y/N smiled "grab my hands"

"I don't know..."

"I know we just met but, you gotta trust me" Y/N smiled holding out her hand.

"Ok" Tory lightly smiled. She grabbed Y/N's hands and Y/N started to slowly skate backboards. Tory slowly strarted pushing herself forward wobbling a bit.

"Don't think about it, it's easier to just do" y/n added picking up the speed a bit. "I'm going to let go-"

"No, no, no, wait..." Y/N slowly let go keeping her hands raised, But still close to her.

"Think about it as roller skating, not ice skating. You might fall a few times but you just need to get back up and try again." Y/N smiled backing up a bit. Tori took a deep breath before pushing herself forward and started to glide on the ice.

"Wooo, go babe!" Miguel yelled from across the rink.

"You and Miguel are dating?" Y/N asked

"Yea, we started dating a week ago" tori smiled picking up the pace

"Like that! See, your a natural" Y/N smiled spinning
