Part 15
***
You had been able to get only about an hour of sleep before you'd woken up again. It probably would have been more, but you were still feeling anxious. No amount of exhaustion would keep you asleep if you were anxious.

When you woke up though, you weren't alone. You were still cuddled right into Clint's chest, his arm still securely wrapped around you. It felt so strange after all these years to wake up and have him there, but at the same time, it felt so nice. It made you feel less alone.

Very carefully, you looked up at Clint, wanting to see if he was still asleep. He had basically two sleep modes. Either you were never going to be able to wake him up until he was ready, or you moving your pinky toe would pull him from sleep. In this case, it was the latter option. Just you lifting your head up to look at him had done it.

His blue eyes opened slowly, looking at the ceiling for a little bit and blinking the sleep from his eyes. He then turned his attention onto you.

"Hey." He mumbles, eyes studying your face. "You feeling any better?"

You gave him a soft smile and hummed. Your eyes felt sore and your chest still had that heaviness to it, but you honestly were feeling better. At least more grounded if anything.

"A little bit." You answer him, gently laying your head back on his chest. His heart was beating at a slow and even pace, which was soothing to listen to. "I'm still tired, but I don't think I'll be able to sleep anymore."

Clint hummed in understanding and his fingers started to move on your hip. They just made gentle slow circles and would occasionally move up your side and then back down, never touching skin. The small touches made goosebumps litter your skin immediately, and you hoped he wouldn't notice.

"If you don't wanna go back to sleep, did you want to head down to the gym for a little bit?" He asks, the sound of his voice rumbling in his chest a little. The gym was still something you really wanted to do, but that meant getting up and leaving the comfort of Clint's embrace. And you knew once you left it, it might be a while before you'd get to be cuddling with him again.

"I do, but maybe in a little bit. I just kinda wanna lay here for a while longer." You told him slowly before realizing Clint might want to get up. That's probably why he even suggested going to the gym. "Unless you wanted to go do something. Then I don't mind I guess." You added, and he was silent a moment. That immediately made you nervous.

"Nah. We can stay here a little longer. 'S kinda nice." He says gently, which had your nerves melting away instantly. You hadn't even realized you had tensed up slightly until your body began to relax. In reply, you nodded, a big smile on your face which you hide by curling into his chest further.

The two you laid like that together for probably 15 minutes. Clint kept up the soothing touches to your hip, stopping on occasion and then starting back up after a minute or so. You just lay there, listening to his heart beat and enjoying the feeling of him being so close to you. There weren't any words exchanged, and a comfortable silence fell between you two. After a while though, Clint was shifting slightly and just didn't seem too comfortable anymore. Right as you were about to ask him if he was alright, he spoke.

"Hey, I'm sorry to do this, but I really gotta go pee." He says, pulling a laugh from you. Slowly, you sit back up and his arm falls from around you.

"That's ok. You can go. I was thinking we could head down to the gym now actually." You shrug, and he gives you a smile as he sits up.

"Yeah, we can do that. Do you wanna get changed at all or are you good?" He asks, looking down at your outfit. You shake your head though.

"I don't have to change. I'm still in workout clothes from when we thought we were going this morning. I do wanna put my hair up though." It was probably a little messy from sleeping. And you wanted to also put on a little makeup too. You knew your cheeks and eyes were probably still red and puffy, and it was just something you wanted to cover up a little bit.
