Evan made the decision to drag me along with him to the library against my will.

His reasoning was that I would've spent my Saturday in there regardless, so I may as well tag along with him.

He was right of course, but I'm not willing to admit that to him.

"I don't think I've told you, but I've asked Maria out to Hogsmeade next weekend." Evan said to me as we walked down the hallway towards the library.

He actually asked her out? I guess he really is serious about this one. Here's to hoping this ends well for him.

"No, you haven't." I replied.

"You should ask Carina to hang out that day too. I'm sure she'll be down." he grinned.

"Why on earth would I do that?" I questioned him.

I have no intentions on spending my precious weekend with her.

Evan saw us in the library on Wednesday after he had forced me into acquiring those useless notes from her. Now, he's dead set on getting us to spend more time together.

I have my suspicions that everyone's refusals to let me borrow those ridiculous notes the other day were also somehow his doing.

"Because I am going to be spending my day with Maria and as far as I'm aware, Carina is still on bad terms with Remus, meaning she's going to be all alone. I think she could benefit from some fun to get her spirits back up." Evan explained, rather enthusiastically.

She's still on bad terms with Lupin? I don't think I've ever seen them be apart for this long before. Not that I pay attention to what she gets up to.

I've just heard stuff, here and there, about them being inseparable or whatever.

"Since when do you care so much about her anyway?" I queried.

"Since I started having a thing for her best friend? I can't just pay attention to one girl and have the other one be miserable. They both need to be happy for our future relationship to work. Come on man, don't you know how this thing works? If it ever comes down to it, you think Maria will choose some boy over her best friend? No. She's going to choose Carina above anyone, always. Which is why I need to make sure they're both happy, so Maria won't have to choose between us." he elaborated just as we walked into the library.

Seriously, only Evan manages to think of things like this.

I wouldn't even think twice about my girls friends. If I ever even had a girl, which I don't see happening in the near future, regardless.
