Chapter Five

Getting myself ready to go to work, I heard a knock on my door. Nagtungo ako roon upang buksan habang nagsusuklay ng buhok at ang taong bumungad sa akin ay naging dahilan nang pagngiti ko sa umagang 'to.

"Here's the key of my Sedan, just make sure you'll take care of my car," Cai uttered.

Tumango ako at ngumiti. "I will. Don't worry. Thank you, Cai."

He just nodded but before turning back, I called his attention again. "I think it's much better if you will just ride me in your car. Less usage of gas and money," I suggested. I'm just trying my luck.

Baka pumayag.

"We're not in the same way," he then said and walked away.

Oo nga pala, we need to separate kapag nasa intersection na. Tsk. Sinara ko na lang ulit ang pinto at pinagpatuloy ang pag-aayos.

Mommy called last night to ask if I'm okay here. I am perfectly okay as long as I'm not bumping into Zairus. Pakiramdam ko kasi may possibility na sakalin niya ako dahil sa mga tingin niya.

I just wore a white button sleeve A-line dress to look simple yet presentable and strappy brown gladiator high heels.

Nang pababa ako, nakita ko ang isang babaeng pretenteng nakaupo sa sala. She's sitting firmly like how a lady should sit. Diretso ang likod at ang mga binti ay magkadikit at bahagyang nakatagilid. Ang mga kamay niya ay nakapahinga sa kaniyang hita.

She has morena skin. Her facial features look intimidating yet still bewitching.

Parang familiar siya at iniisip ko kung saan ko nga ba siya nakita. Sumabay sa akin si Jai sa pagbaba at maging siya ay nakatingin sa babae.

"Who is she?" I asked, not enough for the girl to hear me.

He looked at me and shrugged. "I'm clueless, too."

"Baka isa sa mga babae mo tapos kaya nandito ay para sabihing buntis siya?" biro ko.

"That's impossible. I use protection."

"Iww! So marami ka ngang babae?"

"I don't have any." He chuckled. "Ikaw? Baka gusto mong maging babae ko?"

"Matamaan na lang sana ako ng kidlat ngayon," sabi ko saka nagmadaling bumaba.

Hindi ko maalis ang tingin ko sa babae. Siya naman ay napatingin tuloy sa akin dahil siguro naramdaman ang titig ko. Para akong nakatingin ngayon sa girl version ni Zai kasi ang sama niya ring tumingin.

I smiled at her. Ngumiti rin siya pero tipid lang 'yon.

"Hi," I greeted. "Why are you here?" I asked.

Her brows furrowed. Napatampal ako sa noo dahil mali agad ang naging tanong ko.

"What's your name?" pag-iba ko ng tanong.

She offered her right hand. "I'm Raya Valencia."

Realization hit me while I'm reaching for her hand. Kaya pala familiar siya dahil siya 'yong boss ni Kylei.

"I'm Milgrace Avery Delos Santos," I introduced. "By the way, you're the owner of R.A Valencia's Modelling Agency?"

She nodded. "Yes, I am."

"Actually, my best friend told me about you," I told.

Doon nagsalubong ang kilay niya. "Who?"

"Therene Kylei."

Ngumiti siya nang malapad at mabagal na tumango. "She's one of my stars but I bet she told bad things about me."

Natawa ako nang hilaw at iniba na lang ang usapan. "I'm a fashion designer and tutal nandito ka naman na, I'll take the opportunity to propose," panimula ko. "In two months, I'll be having my debut here in the Philippines as a fashion designer. I started in New York but I've decided to continue it here. I'm looking for a modelling agency to showcase my works and then Kylei introduced you so... can I work with you?"
