***Ariella's POV***
On the way to the diner, the two ended up getting a phone call from the oh so wonder Captian causing them to order a couple pizza's to go. Both choosing one they thought the other would like.
The ride back, was unfortunately quiet for the two. For the first time, Ariella had managed to calm herself down. There were no overwhelming thoughts or worries. Just the case facts and her thinking about them.
Little did the pinkette know that while she was busy living within her own little world, Gabriel was actually quiet for a much different reason.
***Gabe POV***
For the first time since the two had met, Gabriel wasn't sure what he had done. Whether she was just so tired of over thinking or not; surprisingly he was able to her comfortable enough to where he could hear a calming heart beat. At first he wasn't too focused, however noticing how she seemed to finally ease out of her anxiety and suddenly become at peace truly made for such a beautiful sound from the muscle in the chest known as the heart.
Deciding to give it a try, Gabriel took a quiet breath in, then slowly let it out. 'I just have to be careful since we're on the road. I don't want to scare her or wreck.' Gabe thought before allowing himself to become slightly zoned out.
Now that he was in the zone and his senses were heightened a bit, he could hear not only the steady, calm beating of her heart, but the pulsing of it's veins. He could hear the flow of her blood which in his opinion sounded much like putting your ear to a conch shell and hearing the waves from the beach.
Something about this pink haired detective was getting taming to his inner beast. The beast that lurked within the darkness and hid beneath. The part of him he didn't want anyone to see. The part he wished he could just get rid of. But with time Gabe knew he would either find a cure or be cursed for life...
***Back To Ariella's POV.***
As she sat, staring out the window, distracted by the thought's of this case and trying to come up with her own opinion, Ariella herself could feel the slight shift in the atmosphere around her causing her to snap her head around to view the inside of the car. Gabriel had sped up in a high traffic area. "Hey, slow down. You're going too fast." She said softly. However, there was only an increase causing he to grasp onto the seat belt. "You need to slow down. You're going to fast sir." She tried again. However, the speed only picked up. It wasn't until there was spike in her anxiety, that slowly began pulling Gabe back did he notice what was happening.
"GABE!" She exclaimed and within seconds Gabriel found himself slamming breaks as he managed to safety maneuver out of the treat and into a deserted parking lot.
Ariella who had threw her hands up onto the dash to catch herself from flying forward unbuckled almost immediately and got out of the car once it was fully stopped.
Gabriel quickly cut the car off and pulled the key out of the ignition, placing them into his pocket. Getting out, he rushed over to where Ariella was and spoke softly. "Ariella, are you okay?" He asked seeing her taking a few deep breaths. "Am I alright?" Ariella asked quietly. "Am I alright?"
She repeated this time a bit more dramatically.Ariella took a few steps back, taking a moment to compose herself. Within those few seconds, Gabe could hear the rushed beating of her heart, the quickness in her breath. The worry as well as relief all mixed into voice with every word she spoke to him.
After the few seconds, Ariella spoke. "What was that just now? Are you trying to get us killed?" Ariella asked a bit exaggerated. Gabriel was surprised most people tended to not act so attitudy in a calm way in these types of situations. "No, I just-" before he could finish the pink haired woman cut him off once again. "Just what?" Her voice rose a bit. "Zoned out in the middle of fucking traffic? What the hell man? Talk about dumb ways to die!" Gabriel who was about to respond but back a laugh. Giving her a few minutes to calm back down, the male replied. "Detective, I'm sorry. That normally doesn't happen. I promise." Ariella crossed her arms as she felt a few wet drops on her eyes. 'Shit, I hate these things.' She thought wiping at her eyes. Noticing a slight sniffle, Gabriel frowned softly and took his coat off. Moving closer, he wrapped it around her shoulder's. "Look, I'm sorry. But I won't let it happen again. Please just get back in the car." Ariella feeling the warmth of a new jacket, gripped onto it wrapping it around herself as she nodded softly. "I didn't mean to scare you. But I assure you we'll from now on be extra careful."
After giving her a few more moment's to calm down, Ariella went back over to the car, Gabriel following in line. 'Next time, wait until we're not in a moving car.' Gabriel thought. Making a mental note of what had just happened.
