It was an overkill considering the occasion, but she knew he wanted to impress her. And he must know he did good because her cheeks reddened whenever he twisted to show his tight ass in those jeans. He made a show of it too, pressing her hand to his ass and nibbling on the lobe of her ear in the car like the strange lover he was. Those nibbles and bites, with his lips over her ears and playfully chomping away at her shoulder eventually turned into a full on suckle against her neck and MinJae had to slap his ass before his brain dropped too far down into his dick.

"Then why do you need me to translate?"

"I just wanted to be sure."

"You're just lazy!"

The fortune telling stand wasn't that hard to notice with its gold foiled edges and the heap of tiny letters in a plastic box, open and clearly uncaring of any possibilities of theft. Not that anyone would steal from a blessed temple on New Year's Day unless they were sorely desperate for karma and bad luck.

Amber tossed a coin into the donation box and reached into the plastic, praying in her head for something good. It would be nice to see an 'extremely lucky' on her fortune, she'd had a crappy year or two and it would be nice if life did take a brilliant turn towards a generally positive outcome.

She squeezed her eyes shut. No drama, no more fucking drama, please. Anything but drama. She redrew her hand pulling out the card that seemed to tingle, probably more because of nervousness than any divine power or ghostly intervention. She ripped it open before she could have any second guesses, hoping away from the stand with quick apologies to the family of three waiting for their turn.

大凶 (great curse)

Fuck.

And there went her possibilities of a beautifully lucky year, all down the drain and into the depths of a shit storm. She groaned as her soulmates peered over her shoulder (the argument had long ended with a quick smack of Hikaru's palm on JieMi's pert ass) to read the words.

"Oh fuck, that's a crappy reading," Ezra chuckled, rubbing her back.

"Will it affect us too?" Sieon made a face, reaching for his own fortune.

They all did, and while there were varying results and levels of fortune. They were mostly good or neutral. With the exception of a beaming JieMi who'd received fortune so great the characters printed was ten times the size of everyone else's. So it was just her, huh? She sulked and they laughed ensuring her that they would share as much of their fortune with her as possible.

"It's okay my love, let's go tie it up and get rid of the bad luck." Hikaru soothed, rubbing her back as she made a face. She turned to look at the fence hanging thick with other paper strips from poor souls such as herself—the people of the unlucky desperate to get rid of said premonition. "It's a little strange," He murmured and she turned to him watching as his eyes moved across the paper, once and then twice. The third time sent a rush of fear through her, when his gaze roamed her body, up and then down to her belly. She shifted her weight, and his gaze snapped back to her.

"Is it? What does it say?" She frowned at the paper but her soulmate laughed shaking his head.

"It's probably nothing, it told you to have faith and be more open to change." He handed her the folded strip which she carefully tied with her non-dominant hand—her attempt to cut out the bad luck coming her way. "Don't worry too much about it, just keep the warnings in mind. We're quite sure anyway..."

"Seriously what crazy thing did it say?" She raised a brow at him and he chuckled, the laughter a little too airy and shaky for her liking.

"It said you're pregnant. Isn't that funny?"
