The curriculum in Hogwarts is no joke. Ziah had to figure out at day one that all the classes (beyond the maths and muggle studies)  are all brand new to her. Realizing her disadvantage, she ended up reading a bit far ahead than everyone in her dormroom. A light reading as Hermione likes to call it. Soon, her nose was buried in Charms book at lunch time in the Great Hall, her actual lunch sitting forlornly in her plate, undisturbed. The book however, was snatched from her hands and she blinked in confusion for a moment before realizing that her book is definitely not there anymore.

"It's your third day, lighten up on the reading." The familiar redheads spoke together in unison, sitting on either side of her. Ziah shook her head in amusement before quickly snatching the book back from Fred.

"I'm just doing a bit of light reading, is all. I just don't wanna stumble behind on these new classes." She said, finally taking a bite of her food.

"I dunno why you'd worry about that. You seem smart enough as it is." George added, using her ignored fork to take away a bite of the mashed potatoes from her plate.

"Well, I still need to read a bit. Besides I think that-"

"I think you need to eat first before you do your reading." Another voice spoke up behind them and the three turned around, facing Cedric.

"Diggory." The twins chorused, giving curt nods at the older Hufflepuff.

"Weasleys." He smiled back at them, nodding as he reached over, taking the book from Ziah's hand, much to her protest. "I'll have you know that as much as it is admirable for you to enjoying learning, you've barely touched your food and lunch is almost over."

The twins stared at him as Ziah scarfed down her food immediately at the reminder. "Hang on, are you her guardian or some sort?" George asked, making the girl giggle in between bites.

"He's not but he acts like it." She mumbled as she push away the empty plate, jumping up to her feet with her hands held out. "Book please." He handed her book just in time for the bell to ring, signalling the upcoming start of her next classes. The girl ran off with the three watching after her.

The twins also stood up, staring daggers at Diggory. He stared back at them.

"She's a kid." He spoke with a certain hint of aggression.

"She's our friend too. And we mean no harm." The twins retorted. Cedric's eyes narrowed at the two.

"Not yet anyways, you mean." He said before walking away. "Don't drag her into your antics. It's hard enough to win the House Cup as it already is." He said, leaving the two without looking back at them.

A week had passed by and it's already Friday night. Word had gotten around that Snape, their potions professor has of course, deemed himself nasty as ever, taking points off Gryffindor because of, you guess it, Harry Potter.

You've spoken to him quite a few times at Charms and at Transfiguration (he seems nice, albeit a little shy) and have decided that Snape was definitely targetting the poor boy.

It was also obvious to her that she, Hermione and surprisingly, Draco, are one of the more thriving students (academically, that is) and that she should never sit next to Seamus in any of their Charms classes unless she'd want her hair to get burnt, as the boy seem to have a talent to blow things up, literally. And although she and Hannah are quite new, they both found that they're both talented at Herbology, much to Professor Sprout's delight.

Cedric still tended to her from time to time, noting a bad habit from her that even Hermione can't fix, her tendency to ignore her food just to do something else, whether it would be reading or doing homework or even just doing notes. She had gotten a small set of people who had to remind her to eat, mostly Hermione, Cedric and Hannah, and unfortunately sometimes even Professor Sprout. However, the teacher seems more than glad to stop by from time to time to sip on her tea at late nights in the dormroom with a few handful of first years and older students along with Ziah and Hannah, just relaxing and discussing the school and how their first week had passed. Of course, nobody had sneaked out after the tea time, the cups magically disappearing as she herded the children back up to their rooms before retreating to her quarters as well.

Ziah laid down in bed, the candle flickering softly as she wrote her first letter to back home. She described the school, her new friends and how it's all so wonderful and well, magical. She sealed the letter and put it inside the small parcel with the extra snacks that she'll be sending home. She then got comfy, noting how everything is slightly blurry for her from the distance. She sighed as she closes her eyes. Maybe she should talk to someone about that.

This is a filler chapter just to verify who's close to Ziah and who's not. But of course, we haven't finalized on who all her friends would be. And on who will definitely try to make her miserable. Have fun and I apologize on the late and very delayed update.
