late start to a short day

You woke up late the next morning having entirely forgotten your laundry the previous night, thankfully it seemed that sun had noticed since a set of sweats from the gift shop sat folded beside you as well as a pair of fuzzy socks, you weren't sure where the socks came from since as far as you were aware nowhere in the building sold them but they were clean and comfy so you wore them anyway, making your way down to the daycare where Sun happily bounded over to you, already covered in stickers again with marker scribbles all over his arms "y/n! You're finally awake!" He cheered, hugging you tightly and lightly nudging his mouth against your cheek, earning a quiet giggle from you before skipping away again to stop a kid from cramming a handful of glue into their mouth, the daycare was fairly empty today with there only being around 8 kids "where is everyone?" You asked, sitting on the floor "the daycare closes early on charging days so a lot of parents take their kids somewhere else to stay all day" Sun answered, sitting at one of the tiny tables to draw "my battery has to charge for really long to last as long as lt does" he added "oh yeah, I forgot about that...do you have to sit in one of those pod things while you charge?" You asked "yes...unfortunatly...oh! that's right, you've never been here on a charging day, I should really show you where my charging station is...I mean it's not as though I'm going to keel over but if I do..." Sun answered "well you can show me when you go to charge" you said, looking over at a Kid who had wandered up to you with a drawing scrunched up in their hand, they offered it to you without saying anything "for me?" You asked, waiting for them to nod before taking the drawing and unscrunching it to see what it was "thank you so much" you said with a smile, it was a scratchy picture or you and Sun, you'd been drawn with a white coat and stethoscope which made you chuckle, Sun had told them you were a doctor afterall "it's great, I'll put it on the wall" you said, slowly dragging yourself up off of the floor and going to find some tape, the kid followed you, tugging on your shirt as you taped up the picture
"Doctor y/n is Mr. Sunny your boyfriend?" They asked, you halted what you were doing, looking over your shoulder at Sun who still sat hunched over the miniature table a few yards away "why do you ask?" You questioned as your gaze trailed back down to the kid who stood beside you, they shrugged "I dunno, he talked about you all day! Its so annoying!" They half-shouted with faux exasperation, you quickly finished taping up their drawing before humming quietly, looking towards the floor "yeah I guess he is my boyfriend" you answered, earning a giggle from the kid "that's weeeiiiird" they said "what's so weird about it?" You asked "because he's a-uhhhh robot! and you're NOT!" They answered with another giggle "well I don't see whats so weird about that, sure he's plastic and metal but he's a person just like you and me, what would be weird is if my boyfriend was a refrigerator or something" you said as you started to walk back towards the middle of the room "that would be weird!" The kid agreed
